Well, that could have been rectified if the developers also allowed gamers to use standard controls over tilt. Would not have been a difficult option and would have resulted in better reviews and potentially better acceptance of the game.

Now if this were footage from an arcade release from the late 90's then I would have said wow. But this looks dated. The co-driver voice is pure annoying as is the electronic sound track.
Sega have been left behind in terms of producing quality games and this is yet another step back. I wish they would just stop - its embarrassing that a former gaming giant now produces such digital garbage.

Regardless of what we all think Nintendo have certainly pulled one out of the hat with the Wii. And now that they have millions of loyal followers they will probably upgrade to the next gen Wii at some stage. Just like PS2 owners are (potentially) hanging out for a cheaper PS3.
I would recommend you try before you buy this game. Granted the visuals are pretty however, on the 360 version there are noticable frame rate drops and I even detected tearing on the 60hz HDTV I was using. Oh yes, another annoyance is how you can drive through foliage and see it pass through the front of your car. As for the in-car views they are nice but totally useless for actually playing the game for prolonged periods.

I own a 360 and not a PS3 although will get a PS3 when there is a proce drop in New Zealand. GOW was impressive at first but you soon start to see its limitations. My commment re: the foliage in the game is that even with all the grunt of the 360 you still can't shoot through bushes - they don't even react to gun fire. I dont care that they have more leaves that previous gen games - to me the environments should have been more destructable.

SOny would have been in a very commanding position had they not let their once exclusives slip away from them. Who's to say that tomorrow new IP won't eventually appear on other platforms anyway. 5 years ago did anyone ever think GTAIII or Devil May Cry would end up on anything but the PS2?

...does not even have a foothold in New Zealand. Sure you can import or buy a few titles locally but Blu-Ray is more readily available. However, regardless of whether its Blu-Ray or HD-DVD its going to be a hard sell to convince consumers to change from DVD.
Basically, neither format is cost effective at this point and even the PS3 is priced at NZ $1,199 which does not make a very attractive price if you're just wanting a Blu-Ray player.

Forza 2 - well, it may have realistic handling and physics but the graphics are a let down. The cars don't look as good as those in GT5 nor are there as many cars on the track. The damage modeling in forza also feels last gen and has a long way to go before I'm convinced....

1. UMDs were more expensive than buying the DVD
2. The range of available titles was rubbish

...even in these early shots it still looks better than Forza 2 (I'm a 360 owner and was disappointed by the visuals) however, I hope they can increase the poly count in the environments. I hate it when you come up to a corner and the edge of the track is not a nice rounded curve.
