...HD formats may have provided a great stepping stone between DVD and DD but because they could not agree on a standard format neither will really dominate to become the new DVD.
DD is 100 times more convenient over any physical disc formats and although it may not be practical today it will be for a lot more of us in 2-3 years time.

Why are these two games even being compared? The only similarity between them is the fact that they are based on the same genre. If gamers want one or the other (or both) then they'll buy either a 360 or PS3 (or both!). Its not like consumers buy one console and are then forbidden by law to buy the other.
Why do gamers always try to paint a picture that makes it seem like you're doomed because you did not buy the same console as them?

What really annoys me about this is that both Sony and Microsoft will continue to put a marketing spin on what is essentially digital junk to try shift a few more units.
I cut my original copies to my HDD to stream them around my house wirelessly. I also transfer the ones I want to my IPod for taking with me on holiday. Damn site easier then carting a wallet full of discs around and it means I can watch them as I travel or on the big screen when I plug the IPod into a TV.
Just like the floppy disc was replaced with CD, CD will one day fall to digital distribution.
Ok, so according to some it may not have the visual prowess of Killzone 2, but nobody can disagree that this is the best the Halo universe has ever looked.
I have to now get through BioShock before this comes out as I know Halo 3 will probably be a permanent fixture in my 360's drive.

In New Zealand we still have nothing close to the Xbox Live service they get in the US. We only get the same MI:III trailors and Robbie Williams artist of the month dribble!

...all the PS3 only owners jump all over stories like this. I can appreciate why they think they have to but as usual they should show they are stronger in character and just pass on by.
I for one have been an extremely happy 360 owner since I purchased one last year. It may not have the same bells and whistles as a PS3 but only a fool would say it doesn't have some great games.

...PC gaming is still a huge industry. All these add-ons for consoles is getting rediculous. They should build consoles with several accessible internal slots to plug and play new capabilities. I guess there is nothing wrong with a swiss army knife mentality, but every new device means more cables and more room to find under my TV.
However, I am not sure how useful this kind of add-on is right now. When the PS3 becomes as affordable as the Slimline PS2 then I can see PS3s...

I for one hope they release a Rallisport Challenge 3 on the 360. 1 and 2 were fantastic on the original Xbox.
Evil Dead was filmed in 4:3 but the widescreen version plays much better. As said earlier movie studios have been doing this for decades and to be honest, its not changing the game at all.
This to me is just someone's attempt at trying to find anything negative about a brilliant game because they don't support the format(s) the game plays on.

Halo 3 with is rich colorful graphics or Killzone 2 with is gritty, darker palette. Next time someone pisses all over Halo 3 because of the way it looks...point them at the Star Wars saga which also features its fare share of rich and colorful imagery.

If you're not playing back true 1080p on a screen larger or equal to 50" then you're wasting your time. Sure HD looks better than DVD on smaller displays but not enough to warrant a format change for most. Quad HD would only be of use if they start selling 100" displays at the same cost as today's 32" models.
Increasing the resolution of HD is as pointless as using a 6 megapixel cam...
...I buy DVDs then cut them to another disc or my central HDD for wireless playback around the house. I lock the original away so the kids don't get their grubby little hands on it. Anyway, I prefer the stripped down versions as the movie starts just a few seconds after putting the movie into the player. I'm not going to let the manufacturer treat me like a puppet and get me to decide which format will prevail. If they want my money, then they can damn well work things out amongst themselves. Do you think people who end up supporting the losing format will get a "thanks for your support but here's your money back" from the losing manufacturer.
