I loved this game on the PSP, but the controls are annoying in this demo.
I completely agree. I have a 46" Samsung LNT4669 with 120 Hz/Motion Flow technology and it makes a HUGE, HUGE difference in picture quality. It's almost eery how vivid, smooth and lifelike the picture looks with Motion Flow.
It should be noted that 120 Hz technology is not perfect, especially with certain brands and on certain sports scenes, and you may see a tiny amount of artifacting in the picture.
I recently bought the 46" Samsung LNT4669, which supports 120 Hz, at essentially a fire sale price and couldn't be happier. Game video and HD material is so freaking smooth when 120 Hz is enabled. It also helps a little bit with SD television content, but not as much as games, upscaled DVDs and HD content.
It should be noted that 120 Hz, or "Motion Flow" as Samsung calls it, technology has only been around for a little over a year, so the technology is still impr...
Okami was a masterpiece when the game left you alone to play, but the sheer volume of seemingly endless dialog was extraordinarily tedious. Easily half if not two thirds of the dialog could have been cut without affecting gameplay if the designers had simply let the stunning presentation and art tell the story. A more muted style of storytelling along the lines of Shadow of the Colossus would have favored Okami, in my opinion.
The Wii controller does seem better suited to the g...
The article claims that a PS2 port will be released not long after the game debuts on the PSP. Is there any truth to the rumor? This is the first I am heard of it.
Never mind what is on the receipt, 80 GB PS3s have only been manufactured for less than a year, they are warrantied regardless of the receipt situation. If all else fails, the person in question could simply explain to Sony that they have no receipt as it was a gift.
Mmmmmmmm, "scientifically" canned whale meat.
Pretty much sums up how I feel.
It should also be noted that the "RGB full range" setting is independent of the video connection and works over component or HDMI. I have tested this setting on my PS3 over component and HDMI and I can confirm that it does indeed increase black levels regardless of which connection type you are using. Some HDTVs do not have the color range that "full" RGB requires to display properly, however, and so the PS3 is set to "li...
Projectile, you often need to call Microsoft and transfer your content authorization to the new console because the service centers regularly forget to update their systems with that information, and for that you need your proof of purchase. If you do not transfer the authorization, your downloaded content will only function when your Xbox is connected to Xbox Live and you log on with the Gamertag associated with the content.
The terms of service read more like a wish list than a legally binding document. Companies can and do insert all sorts of questionable terms into the terms of service in the hopes that most of it will stick. The final arbiter of any legal dispute is the courts as only a judge has the authority to decide which contract terms are reasonable and which are unconscionable. Just because Microsoft asserts that they have no liability does not in any way reflect their actual liability under law.
I think a lot of people realized this game was pure vaporware almost from the start.
I completely agree, CrashSharc. Can you imagine if you had to go through the same amount of effort to maintain a working VCR, DVD player or television? "I just bought the UltraMax2000 Fan for my Panasonic DVD player and it works awesome! My DVD player no longer overheats and I can now watch an entire movie!"
I love my 360 and have yet to experience a problem, but I am not about to run out and buy this worthless fan when Microsoft has extended the warranty and re-engin...
I don't know how can you judge that the frame dips to 30 fps are "rare" considering the article was fairly clear:
"The latest build of the next Metal Gear entry held a frame rate at 30 frames per second and 60 frames depending on the amount of action displayed on-screen...When the on-screen visuals held less action and focused on nearby buildings the action locked at 60 frames per second. However, when bullet fire, grenades, smoke, and debris filtered the screen,...
No, just on every game I have played that gives you the option of motion controls. Where possible, I always turn them off. Warhawk is certainly an exception; the motion controls were superbly implemented, but more often than not motion controls seem to be nothing more than a reason to complicate the control scheme.
SIXAXIS motion controls are definitely NOT an advantage.
I loved Uncharted, but there was simply too much combat in comparison to the exploring and puzzle solving elements. Tomb Raider Revelations and Anniversary did a much better job in this regard, and I hope in the next Uncharted game they tweak the combat/puzzle balance in favor of a little more puzzle solving.
Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb has to be my favorite game in this genre. It had the perfect balance of combat, puzzle solving and exploration (except for the last fe...
Nonsense. There have been numerous comparisons between component and HDMI by reputable trade magazines and web sites and they all come to the same conclusion: there is little real difference between the two connection standards, nor should there be over the distances most consumers connect their equipment. Either you are seeing a difference that just isn't there or, more likely, your TV is not properly calibrated for component input.
There are definite advantages to HDMI that h...
There are a lot of comments in this thread that highlight the folly of sales shops displaying SD content on their HDTVs. I would like to point out that this is actually an excellent way to separate the crappy HDTVs from the quality sets, such as the top end Panasonic Vieras and Sony's XRCD LCDs, because these units feature upscaling and SD smoothing technology. My 42" Sony XRCD LCD television features upscaling technology that upscales ALL video to 1080p, but I had to pay nearly $2,300 f...
Wacky Races WAS mentioned in the paragraph with Space Race, but wasn't specifically on the list.
Yes, what a great game and the graphics easily hold up with anything you'd see on the PS2. Likewise Revolt and Toy Commander, all of which I own, were great games as well.
A few years ago I bought a Dreamcast but had a hard time finding good used games, even at the local used game store. In a stroke of a luck I came across a guy that had every Dreamcast game ever made...
Maybe Microsoft could lower the price in Canada to match the value of the American first before any price drop.
