While this is a true statement it should also be the reason that people want a PS4 or bought a PS3! I can't tell you hypocritical it is for people to run to these community sites and tout Sony exclusives when most of you would rather play some halfed baked game, instead of some exclusive game Sony spent millions and millions of dollars to create... Just go look at the top 10 games on the sales chart for both the Wii and the PS3. I guarantee that 8 out of the top selling games on the Wii a...

I have stated this before and I'll state it again! Its not that Nintendo needs new IP's so much, as it would be better for them to revisit some of their many existing ones that they have created in the past and update those. With all the credit you guys give to Sony for all the new IP's they bring out every Gen(lol). Nintendo's total list of owned franchises that they haven't even touched in years trounces Sony's list of games in number easily. You guys can't use t...

Judging by the comments and all I'm actually wondering how many people read the article before posting... "Because most of you were here in the previous UE4 post laughing your asses off that the WiiU can't run the engine and now many of you don't have much to say on how Mark Rein put his entire foot in his mouth for making that statement." We were already saying that UE4 could run on WiiU if developers wanted it to, its just not going to be maxed out on said console. Her...

Lol you gotta love it when an idiot like Mark Rein puts his foot in his mouth... This comment comes from the latest interview with Engadget! Classic tool baggery.

(During the presentation the day before, another journalist asked if Unreal Engine 4 would work on Nintendo's Wii U -- a console that straddles the line between next-gen and the current one in terms of horsepower. "Hahahaha, no," he responded, which sent a wave of laughter through the room of...

You must have started gaming this generation, because Nintendo consoles since the N64 days have primarily survived on 1st party offerings. Yes 3rd party games are very important but anyone that truly buys a Nintendo console buys it for the exclusive games. Your analysis of the WiiU specs are based on pictures of die imaging Neogaf dissected by guessing at what the system is capable of, not actual and factual specs of how the entire system works together. To which a large portion of the GPU wa...

Here's the thing that people must understand! Saying that an engine doesn't support a system and or that a system can't run the engine are two very different things entirely... Not one of the company figure heads said that the WiiU is incapable of running their engines. All that anyone has heard or read them state is that the WiiU is not supported in coding of the engine. Which is why Mark Rein's initial statement on this whole matter makes more sense. (That no the WiiU isn...

Did you even read what you just wrote? This is the kind of blind faith mentality that just looks ridiculous in the face of logical thinkers... So now the PS4 has magically jumped from 1.8 to 3.5-3.9 Tflops of processing power! I'm guessing that you are one of the few that believed Sony when they said that PS3 had a theoretical throughput of 2Tflops when that system was announced. Point of the matter comes down to real world achievements in games. Theoretical is all good on paper, but a re...

So you seem to think that because its an APU design that its not outputting that much heat... That's the whole reason that they underclock the chip from the start is for reliability and to reduce overheating issues! The total system performance of the PS4 is 1.82 Tflops, this was told at the NYC release event. The chips are manufactured at that clock rate, why woul Sony overclock chips down the line using software when they wouldn't know what the full ramifications that this would cau...

Agreed! People aren't taking into account that the throughput given for the PS4 is the total system output not just the GPU. So this definitely puts the GPU in the PS4 closer to the 7850 chipset. Games will still look amazing though, so I don't know why everyone is so obsessed with bits and bytes like this.

I think the thing that you fail to acknowledge in your comment is that the PS4 is closer to off the shelf PC components than any system Sony has made before. So a PC using a similar set-up in specs is just as good as the real thing in this scenario. There's nothing custom about these chips Sony is using and AMD even stated that they will be selling a version of the APU in the PS4 as a mass market chip after the system goes on sale. Just because the RAM amount changed and possibly a overcl...

The fact of the matter is that publishers aren't going to ignore a 150mil install base to so the can make PS4&720 games. So in the end the general public doesn't care about the Next-gen hardware if majority of the games are still coming to the current consoles. This is where the line is getting blurred because in the end both Sony and Microsoft are going to be competing heavily with themselves come holiday 2013. As the outgoing models get to an even more mass market pricing while ...

The mentality of the western gamer is lead by the media in general it seems. People over here tend to react to everything that comes across the World Wide Web... I personally don't know why after all of these years people still choose to doubt Nintendo's staying power in this industry! At this stage of the game you have to put them in a similar boat to both Apple and Disney. Yeah sure you may not like some of the products they are selling, but just because an individual or even millio...

The cost and development teams needed to make games in general is going up, it has nothing to do with console specifics... To make these big budget titles and to get them out on time takes extremely large teams of people, even if the game is PC only these games still are expensive to make.

Well to argue your point, back in the day Sega released more new IP's than Nintendo as well but that didn't get them anywhere with gamers in the end... At the end of the day these companies need very profitable franchises in order to make ends meet. But even Sony isn't going to continue to bring out games that cost $30-50mil to create if it only sales 1-2mil games across an install base of 75mil+.

When very large companies like this refuse to publish certain games on particular platforms there usually is a reason for it. With the Wii most 3rd party developers didn't put their main franchises on that system because it wasn't HD!(ok simple enough) Enter the WiiU and now developers don't know what to say the reasons are now. At least Ubisoft is putting all of their games on the WiiU, because it is an HD capable console. Games like Watch Dogs has just as much going on and looks...

Your comment makes no sense. So basically you view the world as a son should be punished for his fathers sins! Nintendo isn't even the same company that they were when Yamauchi was running things into the ground back then. So because that was his views on how to run the company, no 3rd party publishers in the future should ever do business with Nintendo again. So I guess because Hitler hailed from Germany that all Germans in the future should be punished for that as well... Ridiculous rea...

No, no, no, Ubisoft!!(keep thinking that though) But just make sure you get and release Watch Dogs on time for the WiiU, that's all... I think by the time Rayman comes along for the WiiU, people will have many other gaming options to choose from by then.

Why are so many people knocking this flyer? Its no different than a comparison of features between an IPhone, IPod touch and IPod Nano! Yes there needs to be a clear marketing point from Nintendo on the WiiU, but I don't think this take here is all that bad for the non serious gaming public that may not know the difference.
