Listen if your trying to prove a point by saying that Nintendo doesn't create any new IP, then just say that they haven't created any new ones that you like. Because I myself find it awfully stupid when people say stuff like this and just choose to dismis games like Xenoblade, Pushmo, Pandoras Tower, The Last Story. Its not that Nintendo even needs to create new IP's as much as it would be better if they just put more push behind some of the existing ones like Fire Emblem, Luigi...
People would actually have a legitimate argument against Nintendo if they just stuck with the Mario as a character is being milked. Because that statement is true! To say that the franchises are being milked though is a bit much, considering how long Nintendo has been around. Nintendo is the Disney of gaming and people shouldn't expect to see less of Mario on Nintendo consoles and act like they don't offer anything else on the menu, when they do have other very good games that they...
Everyone showboating their graphics engines around is getting tiresome... That's all any company or developer is talking about these days instead of games.
What I don't get is why people think that the resolution is the only thing to take into account when making a game look great. This game on the WiiU could be running at 30fps & 720p native(upscaled to 1080p) but include hi-res PC textures. Which would probably look simply amazing and far beyond anything we've currently seen running on the system!
Not to mention that people think all Nex-gen games will be native 1080p are delusional... Developers in the future will continue to sacrifice the higher resolutions to provide more content and details on screen at one given time.
Actually most games this Gen aren't even running in native 720p on current consoles!
The fact of the matter is when has anyone ever heard a developer complain about the memory bandwidth being not enough? They have complained about not having enough RAM, but I have never heard of a developer stating that the bandwidth just doesn't cut it though... Fanboys are always in the penis measuring phase for some odd reason when it comes to consoles. Lol
Well Darksiders 2 is a good indication of a great way to put inventory and sub menus on the touch screen. Once you play games that have the convenience of everything just being there on the fly, its hard to go back to hitting the start button and scrolling through pages of menus. Personally I want Nintendo to spend more time and efforts into overhauling the battle/magic/lvl up system. I think they can do some amazing things with Zelda that would take the franchise to a whole different level i...
Actually the article is referring to sales performance and not hardware, which that should of been made clearer in the title! But oh well...t
2-3gb might be all that the gpu may have access to in the end. Being able to instantly power on the system, pick up a game instantly from where you last left off, and having a real-time pvr built in means these are all RAM intensive functions. I'm not talking about the ARM processor for multitasking and doing things in the background, but the actual on the fly features of PS4 will consume lots of RAM to provide the level of interactions that they spoke of at the unveiling...
Im sure PS4 will be a great console but people are really getting delusional now with these specs! And lets not forget everyone throwing around how much RAM the system has... 8GB is great but what Sony hasn't acknowledgd is how much the OS will use by itself. You don't get to have all of those multimedia features for free, but many of you here act as if all 8GB will be available for graphics. Which just isn't true at all
I personally would like the new Zelda to have character models and art style similar the images below. I think an anime look to Zelda would do wonders for the series...
I think the problem that publishers and developers have alike with review scores, is that they serve as a permanent report card in which their future projects are measured by. Which in turn either makes the game look bad by comparison or great. In the case of GoW:Ascension judging by the reviews coming in, many reviewers feel that this game isn't bringing a whole lot of new things to the table. Which doesn't make it a bad game, but it may keep the game from feeling fresh and exciting ...
In the end I think it came down to EA wanting to monetize the Nintendo network and Nintendo wanting it to be free! Offering great DLC is one thing, but charging a fee to people just to play online is ridiculous really. Now if you are offering something premium on top of the service like Sony does with PS+, then that would make sense. But its not a requirement to enjoy the online service at all...
Actually you couldn't be more wrong about what happened back then. Yes Nintendo went to Sony to have them produce a CD drive for the SNES, but the deal fell through when Sony wanted a portion of Nintendo's royalties on every game sold! (Which is Nintendo's bread and butter.) The good thing is that Playstation may not exist in the same form today had it not been for this falling out. But you really can't blame Nintendo for not parting with what keeps them afloat and this deal g...
Well we know this is false when it comes to the Nintendo Network. Many of the Indie developers have come out and stated how Nintendo is not restricting how many patches a company can make, or the size of such content and they aren't charging for patches like other companies do. So my guess is that EA wanted more royalties or something per console sold and a Powered by Origin logo on every system box and game cover. This spells Greed!
I can tell that many people here are reading to deep into what the man has said! He stated that he would rather make new video-games vs remakes... All he is stating is that he would rather work on something brand new(be that as it may an established franchise or not) New is New. Now if he said that he would rather create new IP's all of the time, then I would expect the type of responses that are seen here in this post.
Zelda is not a real life story so why does it need real life graphics? The Zelda HD experience was detailed just enough without trying to achieve photo-realism.
Actually if these rumors are pretty accurate, this puts the 720 & WiiU alot closer to each other than it being to the PS4. But the numbers being thrown around by all are misleading really! Sony says that the PS4 is approx 4.5x the power of PS3 and by these rumors the 720 is going to be 3.5x the 360. With WiiU being approx 2.5x the power of 360, wouldn't that place all three 8th Gen consoles pretty close in their abilities? Those numbers aren't drastic from one another, so it won...
I agree and there is nothing diehard about that kind of mentality at all! These extremist fanboys feel some sense of loyalty to a company by doing such things, as if the heads of these corporations are going to reward them for this act of blind faith...
