In all honesty I think GOTY will come down to these games:
Portal 2
Skyrim
Arkham City
Uncharted 3
Battlefield 3 (Pc version)
I feel you. I already got gears 3 and that was my most anticipated game of the fall. I've been back and forth on skyrim and Dark Souls, but I think I may actually get Arkham City having missed out on AA and loving it afterward and maybe halo anniversary considering it's only $40.
I love the Foo Fighters, I'd go there just to see them but that wouldn't be fair to Blizzard.
I'm sorry but what DICE have put on show for the consoles is just a slap in the face. They claim to have games that outstrip anything else on the consoles, but look at Rage, Gears 3, Uncharted 3, those are pushing the xbox 360 and ps3. I said it when I first heard and I'll say it again, "Why did they even bother to bring it to console?" I will eat my words if it comes to that, but so far I am thoroughly unimpressed with what they've done on console. PC version is looking...
From what I here the game is nearly 40 hours with sidequests, not including the challenge maps or new game plus. Sounds well worth 60.

Pc version still holds up fairly well, The 360 version is vomit inducing, gears 3 murders it in its sleep.

ARGGH! Still so torn between skyrim and DS. Both have advantages over one another.
This is not what you want to put out there. I mean look at their competition in the RPG space, Witcher @ was a hug leap for that series and loved, Deus Ex was a hug revival for the series, and Dark Souls looks like a revolution for that series. And all Bethesda can say is this. My faith has become shaken in this game lately aat the same rate my curiosity is peaking with DS. It's starting to sounds like Bethesda is resting on their laurels.

This article is pretty petty. But I'm gonna do more hmwrk on Dark Souls, I'm hearing nothing but good things about it. I was pretty quick to defend skyrim because I thought Demon soul from what I played was a pretty good game while Oblivion, from what I played years ago was fantastic. I can only get one other game this fall so, yeah.
No, I well designed game is better. Gaming skill, you're not a pro athlete calm down.
When Dark Souls can offer something even close to the radiant system, I'll consider more than the fact that swomeone says it's just "bigger". Not more intelligent, or more rounded, just bigger, which is debatable.
I actually dislike most of this sites reviews. Very polarizing. I'm sorry but there is no way objectively that this game is a b- ( I have it).

you played a demo for an rpg, so you haven't played everything. I personally think the games is at least an 8.5
I just finished playing it and I have to say, it's pretty lackluster. I wouldn't be so critical of a beta, but it needs far to much work and polish, to ignore this close to release date. Well that's from the 360 side of things, I'm sure the PC has better things to say.
