If all PS5 games were on PC, would you still get a PS5? There's numerous reasons why someone may prefer a console over PC beyond exclusives.
Stability, affordability, consistency, less cheaters, controllers.
Taking a wild guess here(not my thoughts): they expect Microsoft's approach to eventually pay dividends a few decades away where Sony's more traditional approach may not be able to compete in the same way yet they expect Nintendo to continue well enough based on their cheap hardware, & adorable family friendly franchise icons.
That's obvious even to someone like myself who intends to purchase an XsX over a PS5.
The PS4 had a significantly larger install base, have consistently released top quality, well reviewed exclusives & went into & out of last gen with a strong consistent message & a strong reputation.
All points Microsoft has failed in- though I'm an overly pragmatic guy & the XsX is slightly more suited to me, personally.
Well good games are part of the attraction to gamers to join the Sony ecosystem- their own hardware, peripherals & games make up less than 20% of that revenue (& that's putting r&d aside)- once they're in, well then that's when they get the other 80% when people buy vbucks in Fortnite on PSN & buy the PS version of CoD, & so on & so forth.
