Regional gaming, areas with lower population density will have a larger pool to play among before being forced to hop to another region where they'll lag all over...
It provides longevity to multiplat games. As an adult who doesn't give a shit what console someone else owns- so long as I can game together, this is an excellent initiative.
Imagine being able to pick up a 10 yo game & being able to find a game without joining some sort of clan/community that plays at specific times, because that's the issue happening now when the people who play the exact same game are fractured between 3 platforms.

@danoman64 I hated Witcher 2 at first, but I pushed through & once I passed the jail part, learned to love it. Witcher 3 was similar, it wasn't until after I killed the griffin that I started to really love the game.
It's simple: Because they didn't put the hardware in the PS4 for it. Now they could emulate it if they wanted to, but clearly, they've decided it wasn't worth the effort.
Frankly, if it weren't for the exclusives, I couldn't recommend a PS4 Pro to anybody over an Xbox One X- other than exclusive games(the most important consideration, Microsoft, you morons!), the X1X is hitting all the right notes lately.

The real issue is that MP games will have a shorter lifespan- not because of the lack of new content but because publishers will pull the plug on servers even earlier than usual.
I think the issue is just that, he's the most iconic character yet it takes dozens of hours to reach him. It'd be a smart move if people weren't outraged but realistically, in this world, how many people are going to put in those hours? Many will but the casual gamers who are by far the majority, they won't put anymore than 10-20 hours into MP.
EA should've seen the backlash & put an awesome but less iconic character as the late game unlock- like Mac...
I don't care either way. If SWBF2-2 is a good game, I'll get it, & I'll enjoy it. Microtransactions suck but unless the game requires them to continue, I don't care. Part of the reason for their success with the PS4 is their commitment to their quality first party AAA games. Many people purchase consoles just for the concept of quality exclusive games- even if they never get around to actually purchasing them, they may borrow their mate's copy but even if they don't, just the idea of such games is enough to motivate someone to pick a PS4 over X1- so the results aren't always direct or even measurable but has no doubt improved their situation. ...
One thing piracy is good for is showing dissatisfaction with the provider, of course, the actual reasons don't always translate well. Not that I'm justifying it, just saying that it's something providers should learn from.
They can provide an evenly competitive game with a progressive reward system without all this card nonsense. Upgrading yourself into a vehicle just sounds silly at best. Same with the linear uncontrollable super tanks such as the AT-AT. We could use them just fine in the original SWBF2(same with space boarding), so why cut out some basic, appreciated features to implement something silly that no one asked for?

Honestly, if you're a graphics snob but on a budget, the One X is a great deal upfront. Of course that's excluding increased game costs & Xbox live. If you buy 50 games a year, you're still better off with a PC.
