The PS4 Pro & One X have really stalled any practical desire to reach a new generation. In fact, Unless they base the next generation on something other than graphical power, there's no real need for a new generation for at least another 2 to 3 years minimum.

Sorta, for non-commercial artistic purposes, he's probably not entitled to anything but it's outright scary that you, fellow consumers, believe he should be liable. Why should you or I care what Sony cares about? I'm a PC/PS4 gamer, literally threw my Xbox 360 into the bin a couple years ago & I'd take welcome the opportunity to play with my mates on whatever console they own if I could.
Beats shoving my head up my arse with the false hope that I'll always be able to instantly find a game- no matter the games age, my region or how specific I want the lobby to be.
I can't imagine how crossplay will affect much, people buy what their friends play right now but if crossplay removed that from consideration, they'd buy the more attractive package- whatever offers better exclusives & ultimately the best bang for their buck.
I don't care for xbox but I hope Microsoft plays on Sony's reluctance. Imagine announcing that all future online games will be xplay compatible if developers wish to implement it- with fairness provisions such as xbox only servers to protect people who don't want to play against KB&M.
