Not really the same thing. The dude is making his salary regardless. The game could outright bomb, but he is still getting paid.
Game sells 10 billion copies = guy gets paid his salary.
Games sells 1 copy = guy gets paid his salary.
I wouldn't really care either. That's EA's job to care about the numbers. Titanfall producer will still be producing games no matter the outcome.
He was the only game critic worth watching, so bummer that he is leaving. I like that he spoke his mind regardless of what anyone else thought. To many people ride the bandwagon, Sess was not one of them, so props to that dude. Look forward to seeing where he lands.
Essentially, the way I see it, this device competes with Apple Tv, Google Chromecast, Roku etc, only difference is that Amazon's device has games as their own niche to the market. It won't be their main selling point, but it will be what makes them different from the rest. It will move units for them in the long run though, especially with families. A little something for everyone basically.
This is not a gaming device though so I don't think it appeals to anyone ...
Not really such a bad thing though. Especially seeing as how Microsoft ripped off their controller design from Sega.
Long live the Dreamcast!
Not surprised in the least. I had a feeling this would happen when they announced they were pouring all their cash into mobile. It would have been better spent expanding their IPs, but we'll see where they go from here.
Pretty cool. Just registered to check it out. Similar to Glyde in a way, except without the middleman. I like the idea of allowing trade for everything from NES to current gen. Good stuff.
Yah, I totally get what you are saying. I just find it funny that most people are bickering about Titanfall on an Infamous review.
What does Titanfall have to do with Infamous? An FPS and a 3rd person action game? How is that comparable on any level? That's probably why you are having a hard time understanding.
Or hey, remember when that one game got a 5/5? Yah, total rip off compared to Infamous.
Eh, the game still looks pretty good.
The way I see it they had 2 choices here.
Either show the game how it should have looked and have people complain. Or do a slight downgrade later and have people complain. The end result tends to be the same in this situation. They probably should have been more upfront, but not a whole lot you can do now at this point.
What does COD have to do with BFs terrible launch? EA messed it up bad, really bad. It still has issues to this day. It's not about whether the game is better or not than something else, its about how broken the game still is for some users. Yes, there will be launch problems, but EA has been in the business a long time. They should know better than this.
More games need to ditch multiplayer. Props to the dev team for sticking with single player and improving upon that idea.
I was going to say the same thing. My Wii collection is massive and the bulk of the collection ends up being 3rd party. The only difference for Wii is that you had to dig into the library. It's got a ton of hidden gems that got overlooked or did not get any exposure.
I mostly stick with Sony and Nintendo as they have the games I want to play. But I have no issue picking up an Xbox One if they started pushing out games that I wanted to play, which may be the case for this new generation. It's still early so who knows what will be offered.
Eh, I don't hate the game. I just find it very boring, like most cinematic experiences. Good story and graphics, but way to dull to sit there and play it. It was a decent rental though.
Some of those comments in that article are downright embarrassing. Not that I'm surprised, but just saying.
That's kind of how it tends to go on N4G though. I mean, I would think Ubisoft or Nintendo would make a statement if it were cancelled. I guess people didn't seem to rationalize that far. Most people took it as an opportunity to regurgitate the same comments of the Wii U being a flop, under powered, complete garbage, etc etc etc.
Oh well. S...
They really don't need a new business structure. What they need is more software on the Wii U. That would help them more than anything.
I agree. I wish they would ditch the single player and change the pricing model. I don't mind the campaign myself, but why not just do 40 dollars for the multiplayer? Maybe have the single player as digital download for 10 - 20 bucks. Just an idea.
Yah, its usually the Dreamcast in most situations.
Awesome. I'll take one of those for sure.
The pro controller is pretty good. I use it for Mario Kart and Donkey Kong. It feels comfy and the battery seems to last forever.
