No one denies the Xbox will boost sales by launching in new markets...difference is those new markets are small and the majority of PS4/X1 sales have been from the US/Europe markets which both consoles are already available in.
The question is if PS4 is already outselling X1 in the 13 markets they already share (including US and UK which used to be Xboxs big markets), what difference will launching in other smaller markets make that have historically been stronger for Plays...
The Vita needs the Japanese market more than the PS4 does. PS4 is doing great in the US and Europe. While the Vita continues to grow in popularity in Japan. Either way, it's good news for Sony.
Unfortunately for Xbox fans....those multi billion dollar profits come from Microsofts non-gaming divisions.
@georgenoob
#1. if youre going to include a digital only game like Killer Instinct...then you also have to include Resogun on PS4.
#2. if youre going to include a multi console PC game like Titanfall...then you also have to include Final Fantasy Realm Reborn, Steamworld Dig and Outlast for PS4.
#3. you conveniently forget MLB14 The Show comes out in 10 days. The PS3 version already has a score of 81. The PS4 version is supposed to be even better....
@DragonKnight, Frosty - It does seem a little out of place that coincidentally 1 week after NPD revealed the PS4 has a very big sales lead over the Xbox One, Microsoft is trying to rally back with profit margins (for Microsoft Corp as a whole, where the majority of their profits come from their non-gaming divisions) and ad revenue stats.
Back in the day, console wars were won by the company selling the most gaming systems....not the company with the more successful non-gami...
@FlunkinMonkey - this is just another example of xbox fans believing the Microsoft PR suits and trying to make excuses while ignoring reality. When the 360 had a 1 year head start (and millions of RROD multi sales), Xbox fans used to love talking about sales charts. Now they say "sales dont mean anything" and make excuses.
PS3 was the fastest selling HD console last gen reaching 80 million consoles in 7 years. Xbox 360 reached 80 million consoles in 8 years. Yet, ...
Sony loaded up the bases with their massively successful PS4 launch passing 7 million sales. If they can have yet another huge E3 showing this year...its going to be a grand slam leading into this years holiday season.
48 Hours after Sony announced the PS4 reached 7 million sales...its being reported that Uncharted 4 will be showed at E3. Its like Sony is daring the competition to step up at E3. This years show is going to be intense.
March was a huge month for both systems with Infamous and Titanfall. Unfortunately for MS, Titanfall didnt make a dent in PS4 sales for the month. 7 million PS4's sold compared to 5 million Xbox Ones shipped is a pretty big difference.
The PS4 continues to prove, fanboys speak loud...but gamers' wallets speak loudest. Congratulations to Sony on the PS4s continued success.
If Sony pulls off yet another impressive E3 show, the PS4 hype going into the holiday season is going to be insane.

7 million consoles in less than 6 months is an impressive accomplishment. Congrats to Sony on the PS4's continued success.

@xboxfun - With a name like "xboxfun" commenting on a Playstation article....i should have known you were a comedian. Too bad you only have one bubble....I would have liked to hear more of your crazy stories.
It's hysterical how Sony-haters are trying to find a reason to bash Sony making a 4.8 Billion profit. Those are the same people that don't want to talk about "sales" when Sony reports higher PS4 sales over the competition....but they have no problem talking about behind the scenes sales reports when they can try and twist it against Sony.
Sonys TV and PC divisions have been hurting them for years, but to say Sony "needs the money" and "isn't doing well" is ridiculous. Square Enix has been hurting as a game publisher for years. Plus their games are no longer exclusive to the Playstation brand. It made perfect sense for Sony to get rid of their investment with the company.
Im sure MS will wait until all sales are in for Xone, X360 and PC before reporting any numbers. Combined, I expect Titanfall sales on 3 systems to be higher than Infamous on the PS4. However, in a 1 on 1 situation, I believe Infamous on PS4 will outsell Titanfall on Xbox One.
This is just one guys opinion. Thats why its called an "opinion piece". No big deal. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. In fact, over 4 or 5 million gamers agree with him. Just like over 7 million other gamers agree the PS4 is the better gaming system.
We can all go back and forth on these forums defending our favorite systems all day, but at the end of the day...we as consumers speak with our wallets the loudest. And at this very moment and for the last several ...
For the last 6 months, we heard Titanfall was supposed to be the "final blow" to Sony. Yet, Titanfall didnt stop the PS4s momentum. As good as Titanfall is doing with its combined Xbox One, 360 and PC sales....the simple truth is Infamous on PS4 was the highest selling *next gen* game and still outsold Titanfall on Xbox One.
I expect to see a good E3 show from Microsoft, but just like Xbox fans underestimated Infamous, some people forget Sony is gearing up to hav...
