finally competent developers........i would expect no less from 2k

but i dont get how EA has been developing for the 360 for 3 1/2 years when it hasn't been out for even 2 years.........am i to assume they had a working 360 1 1/2 years before it actually came out?

_______
Yes, you do need to assume that. Developers had to begin developing on the 360 (and any console) way before it was released. That way, they could h...

Taken from the review:
360 version has very marginal visual edge over PS3 version, but not enough to start a flame war.

Like he said, it's not enough to argue about, or in gaming jargon, start a "flame war." In addition, it's the old PS3 build/demo they are comparing the new 360 build to, so I will reserve further judgement. However, I am not trying to say the PS3 version will end up looking better. I actually never played this game, so I'm not sure if I'm inte...

We can all settle (be happy) for a very solid and smooth 30 frames per second with the unreal 3 engine. If anything changes by release time, I'll just act surprised.

to set me straight then. Delusional? I was speculating. I never tried to present anything as fact. You have a vendetta against speculation and 60 frames per second. But since you have said it's guaranteed, I concede, but only because it's you.

So they made a 60 FPS demo, but no game? If the demo runs great, why not incorporate into the entire game? Maybe dev time, but I don't see the point, and I don't really care anymore.

You act like no one working for a company has ever said something that wasn't completely accurate. I work for a big company, and we have had disconnects regarding IT project development many times. In addition, how many times have companies released specifications for a game months before its release, only to have them change closer to the game's release? I know what you're saying, but if you didn't notice his change in responses as he was pressed then you're a bit slow. He even changed his a...

He just changed his answer to be a little more lenient the further he was pressed. He even said the Demo might be running at 60 as everyone thought. I think now is too early to tell what it might end up running at. I will wait and see if any developmental changes occur closer to its release.

and other times, it will run at 30.

You guys are arguing over blades of grass over tiny little screenshots. I remember looking at the Madden Screenshots for 360 and PS3. Observing those still shots of the PS3 and 360 did not do the 360 version justice. The 360 version looked much better in motion. Dirt has a better frame rate for the PS3 version. In motion, you are going to notice the greatest difference between the 2 versions. Also, why don't you wait for better, larger screenshots and HD videos to declare victory? Another thi...

I am not in denial here. This game will probably not be as good as once thought; however, there will probably be a certain group of people who really love it. Nonetheless, I probably will not make the purchase; albeit, I thought I would beforehand.

In conclusion, I am not hindered by one game that might not live up to expectations. This happens quite a bit in the gaming industry. Sony still has a nice lineup coming, so I am not discouraged. For the Xbox 360 fans who feel the ne...

but i recently read an article on n4g that said ps3 development was only 2 weeks behind the xbox 360s. Does anyone remember that?

6746d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

People immediately say, well, Crysis looks better. What is your point? Did you read the article? In perfect english, the article stated the following:
"The raw processing power of the PlayStation 3 has been harnessed to create a level of detail seen only in a handful of games on high-end PCs."
No where in this article were they trying to say this PS3 game is going to trump high-end PCs.

Killzone 2 is a CONSOLE game; therefore, it competes, and should be...

Are you sure that it doesn't matter what Kojima says? Think about how well respected Kojima is. Think about how much money Kojima has made for Konami in the past. If you think, for one second, that Konami completely disregards what Kojima says, then you’re displaying your ignorance. Although Konami could go against Kojima’s wishes, to do so, would be a shock to many people. What Kojima says does matter, and it does affect Konami’s decisions.

To others:
You would have to...

Yeah, I hear what you are saying, but the 20GB did initially debut at launch. In a sense, it is not really a change. Nonetheless, I doubt the 20GB is back permanently.

6759d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

The 20GB has the hardware chip for backwards compatibility, just like the 60GB. I play ps2 and ps1 games on it all the time. In addition, the 20GB has the full HD experience. It has a blu-ray player, along with the HDMI output. The only differences are the ones aforementioned in my last post.

I actually bought a 20 gb at launch and I am thoroughly impressed with it. You get all the main features of the 60GB for less; however, when the price difference was 100 dollars between the 60 and 20GB, it was a better deal. The 20 does not come with memory card readers (SD, micro) but those readers only cost a few bucks. It only comes with a 20 gb HD, but most people I know just upgraded to whatever they wanted. In addition, I already had a wireless bridge for consoles, so I did not need the...

does break, but oddly, that's not even what this article is about. I am not sure why the guy even put that in there, but oh well . . . I figure so people would read it, however.

All electronics are subject to a specfic failure rate. There have been many articles written that state how well the PS3 holds up to electronic failures. Fact is, the ps3 is a very reliable machine, but inevitably, some PS3s have and will break down. There is no such thing as a perfectly designed electr...

Advanced graphics and good 'ol ratchet and clank? I see no faults. If you are a ratchet fan, you will want to play this. They brought clank back. In the last game, it was all ratchet, while clank did intel.

This game looks very good. I think Killzone looks very good, but i have a hard time comparing it to COD4. Main Reason: The 2 styles in the game are very different. I mean killzone is so gritty, bloody, and dark. The blood in that game blows my mind. COD4 is more tatical; it's more reality-based type military action. I think both are on par with each other graphically, but i feel they are very different in style. i'm sure they will both sell well.

43 - hmmm
Well, let us be reasonable here for once. I am sure Sony has all kinds of ideas flying around right now in their corporate offices. The business execs are talking about market share and PS3 pricing, and blah blah blah. It looks like some of these execs said things that should not have been said because they weren't ready to release official information, or maybe it's just part of their plan. Who knows?
That might be pretty dumb, but it’s par for the course with busines...
