this gen is truly underwhelming and uninspired. the lack of stories stems from "there is not more in this existence to tell". then and when some lucky dev gets a new mix of genres and ideas right that is able to capture the masses. but the rest is just "mee too" bringing the umpteenth iteration of the same. and then there is of course this unhealthy habit of reheating old games and selling them again. no, gaming is in a very dark place. and not just since yesterday.
personally, i am not interested in revisiting this boring western setting. but then again, i also wasn't interested in gta5. open worlds these days are the epitome of dull.
i don't care for an ingame speed mode, although it's a good thing. but i am already grateful when a game lets me skip those boring ingame sequences/movies. most of the game stories and narratives in games (especially rpgs) are boring me out of my mind and when some game thinks "player just HAS to watch our cute movies" then i'm put off. one usually knows after the first few words of an npc where the thing is going. and then having to click through screens and screens of ...
the stellar third party support of the switch. finally.
the one question that jumps to mind is: why?
i don't honestly see what there is to improve on that overly successful gadget. the hardware power is already crushing and their online service stellar. and they just very successfully reinvented the voice chat.
i am just scratching my head why games get ported to the switch when nintendo is stating that they don't see themselves as part of the competition? why allow old games to be ported from real competitors? nintendos statements are implying that they are strong...
damn, and this when the planet is flooded with good psychoanalysts...
every sequel is just more of the same. so i refrain from buying them. in a case of a multiplayer shooter there is not much room for experiments. i kind of liked destiny 1 for about 40 hours then i moved on and i will certainly not pay again for the same game mechanics.
lol. i like how this blogger says bonies are too dumb for anything. of course no bonie ever went to gaming news sites or was at a gaming store or never ever used google. way to go, bloggers.
the only reason kh3 will sell not very well is in case the game will not be very good. ;-)
ok... micky$oft is relateively new to the consoles market. they had some forced success with the 360 by investing heaps of money into timed exclusives. but what they are doing now reeks of not knowing the history. if they knew the history they would have realized that the strongest horse never went for the win. the opposite is the case. a console is only healthy if it's backed up by PROPER games for the system. something they are completely lacking. but who am i to give them advice. i onl...
who would want to pirate switch games? and why? oh, i see, just because. personally, i wouldn't even play them for free.
oh please stop already. these articles feels like a person going into a vegan restaurant because it's so hip and then after a short while this person begins complaining about what everything is lacking in their meals. and how burger king and mcdonalds are doing things so much better, you can't have nintendo without nintendo.
if something FEELS like incompetence and cluelessness then the reason for it is: because they are. you see, we are not bashing nintendo just because... their approach is outdated, the company out of touch. and this voice chat and online mess is just one of the results of their arrogant subpar approach,
no, absolutely not. more of the same is never a good reason. i'd like if they did a REAL effort and come up with something new.
reading this review this must be one bright coloured borefest. which is strange because i thought this was nintendos new flagship ip. oh well.
we don't
so, as underwhelming as this gen is, there should be no trouble with a 500gb hard drive. so many remasters no one needs, so many sequels someone else can pay for and be bored with them. i am fine with my terabyte. will never ever be able to fill it up when then industry keeps bein as lame as it is.
playing it on my ps4 and having a blast with it. very accurate controls, very fine timing system. fun graphics, easy to learn, hard to master. in short: a real gem.
but i can see how the very steep learning curve of this game can result in such off reviews. also, i don't know how much of the content had to be cut due to switch/nintendo reasons.
my advice would be: drop the procedural BS, focus on creating immersing worlds. i know, that means hiring new people to do the artworks. but that's the way things are done in a proper way. procedural stuff can be implemented in parts where not the whole game mechanic depends on it or being the whole unique selling point of the game. this means, the approach has to be more clever that what they came up until now. will certainly not buy a sequel from this studio.
is this series as boring and bland as the ps4 counterpart. when i see kids playing this in stores it certainly looks so. couldn't care less if their cars can be damaged or not.
but: judging by the many posts of dudes or dudesses who haven't got the slighest idea that they never saw their branded cars get damaged in a game - i can see why the publishers and devs can get away with their scams year in year out.
