Sony believe in the freedom of creativity, but maintains a standard of quality. They wont allow anything and everything to just slide right onto the system. They have to review it and ensure that it meets a minimum level of quality or else it gets sent back to the devs for reworking. That's one of the thing I really like about Sony is their commitment to quality.

Welcome to the 21st century where we have computers, internet, and bar codes. The whole purpose of SKUs is so companies can track their product from the factory all the way out of the retailers door.
It's the reason you can purchase a PSN card and it becomes activated only once scanned. try to input the numbers of a card still on the shelf by scratching off the back and see if it works, it wont due to Sony tracking the barcode of every PSN card.

3.0 is 90% great, and while there are little things here and there that could be "refined", XMB & PSN is starting to shape up nicely. I'm currently rocking the Afrika theme and it's like night and day compared to MOST of the 2.8 themes. Just wish there was ways to tweak minor things such as font color, white text on a black and white background is stressful.
Actually, the only place I wish they would add a PSStore icon is under the music section and let us get music directly from there. Sony has a large collection of music at it's fingertips and yet no Music section in the PSStore. Ahhhh!
Ohh and if they made the blocks around the friends list about 50-75% transparent it would actually look cool instead of childish.

Besides, I can make the menu move up or down using just my thumb and I barely even have to move it, just by pressing up or sideways on the analog stick. Wanna zoom in or out, just press up or down on an analog stick without the need to move both your arms.
I highly doubt a nickle and dime lawyer would even dare to try to sue MS. Especially since a lot of research would be needed to build up a case strong enough to not get laughed out of court on day one. So the amount sounds about right to me as it's enough to prove your serious, but not so much to raise any flags saying this is a get rich attempt.
I'm not gonna get MW2 at all... mostly due to it being just more of the same. Besides, between WarHawk, Soccom, Killzone, Operation Flashpoint, and later MAG; I wont have much time for another shooter. In fact I'm likely going to drop Soccom and reduce WarHawk to once a month(4-8hrs) status.

It is likely they are going to use this to test the waters of creating their own complete TV station/service. They want to present their cars as being the safest vehicles on the road. If game makers get to probing into just how destructible cars really are, some will be considered to be deathtraps compared to others, which could hurt car sales. So while they want their cars in such games, they don't want them being too realistic with the damage. Not to mention no one wants their cars to be the first or only cars destructible in a game.
