Well, probably the example has been made, and it really is a case of watch what you say, because as in whatever yankee TV show they have where someone gets arrested, as part of the Miranda Rule, "Anything you say can and will be used against you"... I left out the "in a court of law", because, hey this got started by a Canadian.
Yay! Loved playing it way back when! So, when its Ep3 / HL3 coming out again? ;)
Just goes to show, you can get addicted to just about everything. Do they have support groups in that neck of the woods for that?
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the device for what it is, i suppose i'm just too set in my ways with current controller systems. I have played zombie U, but i really wasn't that blown away with the mechanic, even as awesome as it was. Again, just me set in my ways, in my old age; now get off my lawn, damn kids!
I don't know, WiiU leaves me cold, i'm not a fan of such a large controller, and the second screen just seems a bit superfluous...
Great review, which reminds me, I still need to the original TWD - I got it on the Humble bundle a couple of months back, so many great games to play these days!
The violence vs sex thing isn't quite true - continental European countries are generally more open about sex than violence, whereas with the yankees, the reverse applies.
Making a straight assumption, one would have to look at basic societal backgrounds to get an idea of why this happened. The Yankees haven't experienced war on their home territory, and I'm not counting 9-11, as it isn't as pervasive as the first and second World Wars were on the Europeans. O...
What, there ARE?? NO WAAI!!!
lol, love the part where the schoolteacher plays GTA with his kid to teach him colours and about cars, while obeying normal traffic conditions :)
Would be nice for local, but in the meantime, ScummVM is a great way to get retro Sierra and Lucasarts on your mobile, and incidentally, on modern PC's as well... gotta get a review out about that...
Age restriction is one thing, having it contextualized by a parent or other suitable guardian is crucial. Not only that, it makes it more of a bonding experience between parent and child. Extra Credits over at Penny Arcade TV did a great piece on this a couple of weeks back, and i would really encourage people to watch it, as it does give some great tips on how to make this a fun and enjoyable experience, regardless of the content of the game itself.
Linky to the extra credit...
Digital distribution definitely has its place in this new world which we live in, but i also still cling to the old idea of the perception of ownership. As a (former) software licensing specialist, I am more keenly aware than most of the concept that even the disk that you have to load your software on a machine, STILL ISN'T YOURS AND NEVER WILL BE, it's still great that you have it and can re-use it. Not everyone seems to get the fact that, with console games, downloaded content from...
Play EVE Online, they did some really interesting transitional systems when docking or undocking your ship, traversing stargates and wormholes. Now it is a visual masterpiece, and one can almost not wait for the opportunity to look at the next "loading screen"
SHURRUP AND TAKE MY MONEY!
Jack Tompson cuased alot of harm for the industry, thank goodness, he is no longer allowed to practice law, the sod
Yup, still on 2033 myself. Trying to compensate for lack of Fallout sequels in my life...
Consequence, schmonsequence! I have EVE Online! Disastrous consequence awaits me at the next undocking of my spaceship!
They guys over at Mission-US also did 2 similar games, one based on the American revolution, and the other regarding American slavery, both of which are are an interesting take on the subjects - http://www.mission-us.org/ - meant as educational titles
Active video gaming is one thing, but one really needs to look into making sure that, wherever possible, those kids actually go out and do something. I for one, support our sedentary overlords, but even they must feel that something is amiss when not actually getting up and doing something else...
Personally, I can happily classify myself as "overbese" due to this terrible yet awesome pastime... I need to go get running again...
I can't get excited about the 3ds, not since i got my new Android phone. Carmageddon, Sonic, whatever else comes along on the humble bundle sales for Android.
