Nicely put together article, but at the end of the day, the thing that will sway these guys is who is putting down money for the product.
CCP Games went through something like this with their Incarna expansion for EVE Online - it sucked, people stopped subbing , management paid attention, heads rolled, the company changed its direction, they are in a better place now overall. It can happen, but the scale is larger with EA and Actiblizz, so numerically, something drastic has ...
Indeed, and never forget the PC will be a contender for some time though. The degrees of control you have with a PC will keep it going for some time, even though one can already see some titles on consoles supporting mouse and keyboard interaction - Dust 514 for PS3 is a good example, nothing stopping other devs including that...
this one is something else...
Wish i was smart enough to be able to do some decent coding, let alone be able to jam something together for events like this
Awesome sauce, as well as an interesting way of dealing and highlighting piracy!
I'm down for something that mimics Portal's awesome!
There can be good things said for simplifying certain actions within a game. An example would be better companion management in Fallout:New Vegas versus Fallout 3. EVE Online is getting some modifications to make starbases easier to use in its upcoming Odyssey patch. It could be considered watering down, but more along the lines of improving quality of life instead.
Shoving cutscenes in everywhere? Bah!
Add some Fallout / TES, WoW and you're on track for me!
The sad underbelly of this is those that can only seem to function or draw any type of positivity from playing games, because they don't receive this satisfaction or reward from few other places.
Its like drugs to some people, can't get going without it...
Sad thing I never played the Thief series. Deus Ex had some stealth systems in them but nowhere near as complex as this.
Its usually great when one can explore moral options in a fantastic setting, how a what-if scenario plays out. Big problem is the varieties of dialogue that have to be planned out for this type of game especially if voice acting is to be included.
Games like old Planescape:Torment were great at this, because the nature of delivering the bulk of your conversation as text, made it easier to write for and is a lot smaller to deliver. Now include examples like Star Wars: The Old ...
One would think that the racism thing would have died down by now, but it is as the author puts it, important to frame the game to the portrayed timeframe, where this type of thing was commonplace.
Even in Bioshock Infinite, the initial game portrays the founding fathers as saints, even though one of them is known to have sired children with his slaves, even though that type of behaviour is played down when the protagonist must choose to throw the ball at the couple being hu...
All things considered, I really liked the Fallout 3 series along with its expansions - retro sci-fi along with experiencing the human condition. A new engine, one or 2 extra crafting thingies, add some MMO-like qualities to it, and I'm happy...
wait... what?
I've thought I've seen it all, but then again time to be surprised once more.
So the basic query regarding reptiles in love in my mind is primarily - with hearts a-flutter, does that count as self-regulating temperature perchance?
Oooh shiny! Nicely written article! I luckily decided to do something along these lines already, just using 3 actual drives rather than partitioning.
Also, I don't own an SSD :(
my earliest exposure was Karateka, sadly...
Competing, sure, against others - of course, but I like to look at it from a personal challenge, even if I'm not very good at either...
Wow, and i thought I had seen everything...
If only my significant other would understand and appreciate that. Playing the game wasn't fun for her, but the banter on voicecomms was always good for a laugh
Aye, but too many console gamers; suppose just need to realise they are people too :)
