I think if anything season passes, microtransactions and yearly titles are worse than remasters and reboots. Reboots and remasters can bring in New gamers who haven't enjoyed those games. It helps developers get comfortable with new hardware and funds their current projects without taking too much of their time.
For example the 80% who didn't play Uncharted for example. New XB1 owners can try Gears or War and Halo and new PS4 owners can try Uncharted, Tearaway an...
So you know how much was played? It's not just about money. You guys are quite shortsighted for looking only at now. It was already lower then expected sales the last time and yes money helps short term, but, if you lose your biggest group of supporters going forward, you've lost mindshare and future games may not happen and if they do will the fans come back? Screwing with your biggest market is not going to do the franchise favours going forward.
But they could have irrevocably affected their franchise by alienating their biggest market. Getting paid is great sure, but, if they thought the other one sold so little then this is not going to help. They're going to lose mindshare among the fans and their next release even if it is multiplatform without exclusivity the damage may be done by then.
Maybe it is time to move on up. FF XV, KH3 and many RPG's only on PS4.

Halo 5 bundles were available for pre-order for 4-5 months and culminated to those 4 days whereas PS4 price drop only been available for what a month? How much did Xbox One eat into PS4's lead in the U.s.? 30,000 units? Whereas Sony is still leading by close to a million units still?
Wouldn't be surprised since Sony also published the movie as well. Would be interesting to see on NX if it happens.
And PC. My work already has all 3 regular and collector edition available for pre-order.
Destiny move 550,000+ PS4's in September last year in the U.S. alone and over 1 million worldwide, so is moving 300,000 for such a big franchise that great really? Still good numbers overall, but, I think that Black Friday and November with all the new bundles will certainly be interesting.

Yeah the idea that PS4 owners lacked anything this year is laughable. We had great games all year. Even before this onslaught of amazing 3rd party titles I had Tearaway, Uncharted, J Stars, Dragon quest Heroes, Bloodborne (with expansion weeks away!!!), The Order, Until Dawn, Talos principle and so much more.

Apparently Black Ops 2 is the most requested of the Call of Duty. Notice the list specifically listed each of the Bioshock games, but, specifically only listed Black Ops 1. Because if you read the fine details the publisher retains the rights to their intellectual property and the software you don't actually own. You have a license to play the game you purchased for the specific platform you owned. New platform = new permissions, so stepping on the toes of your partners is not a good idea. I would be surprised if Black Ops 2 gets granted a license for example, expecting a remaster or trilogy package at some point.
