Actually my store EB/Gamestop had the Xbox S on sale and on top of that pick your free game of choice too. It was pretty obvious how desperate they are to not only drop the price, but, to give you ANY full price game for free too.
My store still had a sale on the regular PS4 slim and we ran out as well. Its a good thing we had a Pro promotion with free COD. But yeah if we had the PS4 slim in stock we would have added a lot of sales.

Just because you think that Bloodborne was the 'only' worthwhile exclusive doesn't mean its true. There are fans of MLB, Infamous and Killzone just like there are fans for Halo, Gears and Forza.

Whether you like it or not Xbox also had plenty of deals and with lower cost to try to undercut the PS4 and still ended up getting trounced. Fact. When I said my store sold pallets full of PS4's and still had a pallet of Xbox One X and S units some didn't believe me. The proof is in the pudding as they say.
By that time parts should be extremely cheap though so Sony can just keep the PS4 in production and it will still sell. Not everyone adopts new systems so readily. I have lots of customers still on the 360 and PS3.
Name a new game IP that was made by Halo studios that was NOT Halo or Halo related then. How about a new IP by any of the studios that made Gears? How about Forza and Forza Horizon teams anything other than Forza? Nope. Over a decade working exclusively on Halo, Gears, Forza and Forza Horizon and you're surprised that there's doubt in anyones mind?

Nope the PS4 attach rates are extremely high. The highest of any systems historically. Your examples are made up numbers. Facts suggest you're wrong.
I think its ironic that the rumoured games coming to Xbox is more of the same. Halo 6, Forza Horizon 4, Fable 4 and Perfect Dark. Right on schedule. Somehow Xbox expects to beat the Switch and PS4 with more of the same.
Exclusives do one thing though and that's move consoles. Top 2 selling consoles (PS4 and Switch) have the MOST exclusives. Fact. Both also had the most exclusive software sales. Fact. Deciding factor on system to buy? The one with MORE options not LESS.
The 3rd party games are the same on both Xbox and PS4 and the differentiation comes in the exclusives. If the price is the same anyways it ultimately is a big deciding factor.

Sony VR is half the markets already in the year its been out. It overtook both the HTC Vive and Oculus which had year or 2 head start. I'd say thats pretty good.

No seriously the only joke is the Xbox list of exclusives. If there were a lot of 3rd and 1st party exclusives like on the PS4 and Switch delays don't matter as much. Case in point, Xbox 2017 delays and cancelations.
