Not sure how you assume that Nintendo only has a stable of games. Uncharted, Gran Turismo, TLOU, LBP, MLB, Ratchet and Clank all do extremely well. Horizon Zero Dawn has been doing numbers comparable to Zelda. Nintendo also has games that waver between games in sales as well. Just look at sales of Star Fox, Yoshis Yarn Adventure, Metroid Federation, Code Name S.T.E.A.M which didn't do well at all. You know its truly ironic that the same people who suggested GT Sport, Drive Club and NMS were low on content are now here propping up the garbage that is Sea of Thieves. This game was 4 years in development and is significantly more barebones in comparison.

They were also giving away free games. They've had free games and discounts since the year started. For example my store just had a promotion end where the systems were all discounted $60 and you got Assassin's Creed Origin free with every system purchase. They're pretty desperate for sales it seems. As usual however they're still losing to PS4 and the Switch.
Can't blame them really for being fooled. What else is available on Xbox of note? So desperate for good games they're going to pretend this is the best thing ever. Ironic how those same people called GT Sport and Drive Club incomplete then prop this garbage up. Good thing Nintendo and Sony are still bringing the goods.

If Nintendo's Switch not being the best is enough to destroy Xbox sales then MS has no chance of getting out of this. Any way you slice it Nintendo with the mindshare of many customers will eat into Xbox sales too. They have too many staple games and the portable nature also is an advantage. If graphics mattered as Xbox fans make it out to be then Xbox would be growing their market more, yet they still struggle and the Switch will easily fly past the Xbox in mindshare and sales.
Then isn't the Xbox One X pretty much a gen up too? They lost out and tried to get back the market by jumping back with their early update. Its a full gen ahead of the original Xbox One even if it seems like an iterative console.

Guilty Gear, King of Fighters, Blazblue Cross battle are actual fighting games that are on EVO circuit.
