The "its the price" is just another item in a very very long list of "bottom line" excuses made by those who cant accept the market reality.
The toolset isnt "3 years old". XNA 3.0 -- with LIVE Suppor (net code and ability to publish to Xbox) -- has been out for less than 6 months.
A very worthwhile group of games has been built up, and you can see the over-all quality getting better and better. I review the new releases all the time -- i've bought a few games too -- and I can see the titles getting bigger, more technically capable and better looking/playing all the time.

They are letting it start. XNA 3.0 is new, very new, and MS is rightfully letting people get experience before they try to help move the *games* themselves.
Right now, they are marketing to developers mostly it seems.
There are MANY good quality titles appearing at http://catalog.xna.com but MS is letting it ramp-up.

Sony put the Killzone2 launch at end of Feb hoping that Launch & Pre-Launch sales would get them on Feb "Top 10", and then strong March get them again.
If the title launched at beginning of March, they would surely not make the Top 10 for April.
This method gets Killzone2 on two months' top 10 lists. Without puttig the launch closer to the very end of February says they need *all* of March to hope to get on March's Top 10...
