Please educate me as to how Vista is "progress". With every other PC part they get faster, more efficient, smaller and cheaper, that is progress. The only part of a PC that doesn't do that is MS's operating system, with each new version it gets slower, less efficient, larger and more expensive. At the moment it is a toss up between a 8800gt or a 9600gt. The 8800gt 512mb model does beat the 9600gt and if you can find it at a decent price then that is the card to go for. I can't comment on a eqivulent ATI card because I don't really pay that much attention to them.
Never been a fan of SLI, I have always been of the view that the only people that should ever SLI are people that have just bought the fastest card in existance. So the only way to get better is to buy a second card. I really cannot understand these people that buy 2 x 8600gt to try and get the same performance as 1 x 8800gt. You don't save that much money (if any) and you get a whole host of problems.

That "news story" is just awful. Tha author does nothing to back up his statements it was just a "ha ha consoles are more powerful and spore won't save the PC cos consoles are more powerful". Since this is coming to the PS3 and 360 as well as the PC I very much doubt it will require Crysis level specs to play maxxed out.
Lucreto I would highly advise against Dell, you pay an awful lot for their name and I have seen them do horrendous cost cutting measures (like using a 300watt PSU in a high end machine). My advice to you and everyone considering a PC is look into building your own. It really is not that difficult. There is a ton of information on the net, instruction videos the works. All you need is a screw driver, some commonsense and a bit of patience and you could save yourself a bundle.
If that is the case and GTA is "superior" because of the gamepads, can you explain to me why console users have to rely on auto aim to get the job done !!!! Personally I find GTA is a perfect game for the mouse/keyboard combo. However if you want proof I am more than happy to meet up with you on a GTA SA-MP server, you can use your gamepad and I will use the mouse and keyboard, we will then see which control method is better.
At least the developers are bringing this to the PC first, unlike Rockstar that seem to be quite happy to neglect it's PC fanbase just for a few pieces of silver from Sony/MS.
As far as I am aware MS was going to put a hard disc in all 360's, but that meant it would only have 256mbs of ram (cost reasons). It was CliffyB from Epic that convinced MS to ditch the hard drive and upgrade the ram to 512mbs.
Is it just me or does anyone else think that developers have done nothing but moan and whinge this generation ? . For the record Crysis does not take up 12gbs of hard disc space. I have it installed on two PC's here and both of them report it is using 6.52gbs of hard disc space. As for the other guy asking how well crysis sold, I can say that EA has reported it went platinum, ie it sold over a million copies.

You know it's quite funny what you said. If consoles are built to be better than the best PC's can you tell me why I have been playing in HD resolutions for 4-5 years on my PC ?. As far as I can see most "next gen" console games are rendered in 720p. I was using that resolution to play games 2 years before the 360 was released.

Just for the record, the PS3 whilst allowing you to connect a mouse and keyboard DOES NOT allow you to USE them to control games. Infact there is only ONE game on the PS3 that does allow for Keyboard/Mouse combo and that is Unreal Tournement 3. Every other game does not allow it and you are unlikely to ever see widespread support for Keyboard/Mouse on a console simply because it would put the joypad brigade at a serious disadvantage.

I have Vista and XP on both my machines. I use dual boot and I spend 99% of the time in XP that is how bad Vista is.
