Gotta agree with you there, Duo Sticks are way overpriced and incompatible with any product without a Sony label. Luckily Sony make great digital cameras so I can share cards there.

I think BD succeeded because Sony partnered with many companies looking to introduce a HD format to the public. Unlike with Duo Stick or Minidiscs, which were more like single-handed, shameless attempts to gain 100% control over formats.

However even their 'failed' attemp...

I would hate to see the mechs go completely, like almost everything else in the beta they have their place. Yes they are 'walking gun turrets' but they are also restricted in mobility of some key areas making them more of a hindrance during certain objectives.

There is a balance at work and one of the points of the beta tests is to find out what things tip the scale too far. I haven't seen anyone use mechs to a point that breaks the balance of the game. They ar...

I strongly disagree with this review. The writer makes it sound like he was expecting a Shakespeare performance from a shooter. It's loud, dumb and relentlessly exciting, I don't think I would ask much more from a heavily action orientated shooter.

"When you die and have to go back to your last checkpoint, you also have to watch the damned cut scenes over again with no way to fast forward past them. That’s just lame."

Well that just goes t...

All of these things just seem like demonstrations in technical prowess, I can see why they didn't catch on, but you have to admit, most are pretty cool.

I really want Google TV but have no idea when/if it will ever come to UK/EU. Having the means to just add the app on my Playstation would be excellent but would it be stepping on play tv's toes?

Android apps on PS3 sounds amazing, it would really open up the console to a lot of possibilities.

As worrying as it is for an Xbox owner to think about, that is a very good question. I'm not gonna answer it myself as, in all honesty, I just don't know. I'm hoping someone has an insight into Microsoft's 'Plan B' that would make an interesting article or blog.

I knew the minute I posted that comment that someone would end up interpreting it as fanboyism. Not everyone thinks the way you people do, I can have negative opinions about MS but still enjoy playing my xbox... and YES if Sony were trotting out celebrities I would think it was just as shameless and sickening.

I don't hate MS I hate marketing, think before you comment please.

All I was trying to say is that you come across very pessimistic and even turn what most people would see as positive into negative.

"I just feel that people won't see everything because of its amount of content which is sad because of how high quality the game is going to be."

As far as most people are concerned, the more content, the better. Your article is well written it just plays on false negatives in light of a delay. Sure people may ...

It's sickening how they are marketing this thing, it almost makes me wish for it to fail just to prove that you can't buy the ignorant masses with any amount of money.

Disclaimer: Although it doesn't appeal to me at all, I don't actually wish for Kinect to fail, I'm keeping an open mind and hoping it offers something for me in the future.

I'm actually mostly angry because I hate David Beckham, he's your typical low IQ sports 's...

It seems the writer of this article has not only misunderstood how much Gran Turismo has actually been delayed (once in US/EU) but he also falling into another journalistic Cliché.

This being that a game somehow gets worse the more it is delayed o_0 I don't understand how people can suddenly lose interest in a game that is obviously being constantly improved upon. To me it's like having a choice of £100 right now or £1000 in few weeks/months. Surely p...

Nice blog, well written.

I disagree with your opinion that Kinect is the most innovative though. It promises 'controller free gaming' and it has been done before with little to no success. The original Wiimote would be the most innovative as nobody had went all out on motion control and pointer based gaming on consoles before. Kinect is about as equally innovative as the Playstation Move, both take existing and proven ideas and improve on them.

Whether it's 4 hours or 40 hours, all I know is I'm having a blast playing and that's what matters to me most.

"However, if you're more than a content completist and you buy into this idea of the gameplay experience itself offering value over and above the length of its missions, then in my view it's one of the best single-player shooters money can buy."

Agreed, nice article Omega Zues.

Was thinking a little about this myself and you have pretty much finished my train of thought and presented to me in a coherent and interesting way. I don't see that a lot on this site and I'm truly grateful for your insight.

@coolbeans I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Kinect would cost $100+ to produce, back when people were speculating about it's retail price.
