Dude, what the HELL?
I can't make my character left-handed?
For a game all about immersion, that is one of the biggest breaks when something so comparatively small and simple can't be done.
@Ferrarifan
You're assuming that everyone that has a PS controller actually likes it. Well, um, not really, since there are no options when purchasing a Playstation for what type of controller you get.
I loved split-screen, but PLEASE make menus viewable in split screen for Borderlands 2.
Fair enough, this isn't brought up a lot. I don't really know how to respond, but you bring up a good point about realism in such an unrealistic game.
CoD has great characters, sure, but part of the appeal of Battlefield's story, from what I can tell, is that it puts you in the shoes of an average soldier, and keeps the action relatively realistic.
Much like CoD4's campaign up until after the *spoiler* nuke went off. After that it seemed to go full-blockbuster up until the finale.
I'm getting both on launch.
While I may be "more excited" for Dark Souls, I will probably have a very fun time with both of these games. Skyrim for the immersion, and Dark Souls for the "omfg SERIOUSLY!?" difficulty, heh. At least, I hope Dark Souls is difficult.
Essentially, one of the original Resident Evils but with an over-the-shoulder view.
Yeah, I kinda completely agree. An RE4 game but with zombies and way less ammo. Hell, maybe bring in some melee weapons with limited use.
Etseix, no one wanted full RE5-type crap.
We wanted RE4 but SLOWER-paced. The camera control was awesome, the quicktime events were just enough without being ridiculous. It was tense without being all "boo!" It had the feel of a Resident Evil game instead of just an action-shooter-"horror.&q uot;
I think that the game will sell plenty.
I also think that the game will be kinda crappy, and for many players will just be collecting dust after a playthrough and a little time in multiplayer, like GoW2 did for me.
I still can't believe I wasted $60 on that.
It's clear that he's either being sarcastic or he escaped from the insane asylum and somehow got to a computer.
Either way, I think it's pretty damn funny.
Well Battlefield 1943 has a tutorial for practicing plane flying, hopefully Battlefield 3 will too.
I...I completely agree with you. Absolutely, completely.
I used to be a huge CoD fan that disliked the slow pacing of Battlefield, and now I'm a Battlefield player that still takes the time to at least check out new CoDs to see what's new/different.
They are absolutely different types of FPS games. It's like comparing a Nascar game to an NFS game.
The only way I would agree with you is if you could still "spot" in hardcore, but in a realistic pre-modern fashion. As in, I hit back, and my teammates hear, "Near that bush!" or something like that. Even something simple like having the map on a grid, and saying "A5!"
If I'm playing hardcore, I want at least a degree of realism, and the lack of any spotting ability whatsoever (especially when playing with people without mics) is quite unrea...
Sounds good to me. Demon's Souls was great without any DLC.
I disagree for two reasons. One: Being on a disc, right now, allows us to play the game on any console, or sell it to someone else. Digital copies don't allow the resale or gifting of the game that YOU paid full price for. Essentially, digital copies are just rentals that you aren't allowed to give to anyone else.
Also, as it is right now, DLC is just for milking us out of more money with content that, at least a fair portion of the time, should have been on the relea...
PS3 users shouldn't necessarily be "worried" about COD over the lack of footage, but it's reasonable to feel slightly neglected/apprehensive about it.
That said, I'm a 360 gamer, and I'm down for not having any footage so far. The gameplay and destruction are what's important for me since the graphics simply won't be the best (for the PS3/360 versions compared to PC).
I would certainly like for Dark Souls to be GOTY. Demon's Souls was my 2009 game of the year, and *I don't even own a PlayStation 3.* It was that good of a game, for me.
Being able to play the spiritual successor on my own console is such a godsend. If it's as fun as Demon's Souls, I would almost definitely put it in the top 3 games for this year, and this year has a RIDICULOUS lineup already.
It could even tie or beat Skyrim for RPG of the ye...
Skyrim and Dark Souls are the two most-important ones on my list. Both of them offer everything I want and love in a game, in their own special way.
I'm down-bubbling you for trolling, since I think that the only reason you're putting in the bit about God, and Jesus being "god," is for trolling purposes.
Your first statement is the equivalent of saying "And this is 1 of the things I hate about America. BP is a British company, and if not for them, then their lawyers wouldn't be doing this."
(Fixed your spelling of "their," too.
It's not about "wanting" to shoot kids, it's about the immersion. In a real life zombie situation, you WILL have to kill zombie kids in order to survive, and it may completely suck. Leaving out all kids misses the chance at pulling a 28 Days Later by showing how crappy it is that you have to kill those undead children to survive.
