You've got me all wrong. Demon's Souls is my favorite game of all time, and while I do enjoy FPS games as well, I'm more of a (real) survivor-horror type, along with racing and platforming and blah blah blah.

Nice job sticking words in my mouth, though. My beef with GoW isn't the camera angle (though a slightly closer one would, in my opinion, be a little more exciting), it's that there are so many bad guys that are just so...easy to kill. I wish that ther...

He's alright as a character, because he's far deeper than just rage and violence (except when they throw in cheesy sex just to throw it in, that's really tacky). He grows, changes, shows love, desperation, depression, anger, all of the traits that a character should have. That, combined with being a Spartan, makes him pretty high on my list, as far as characters go.

The gameplay is pretty bad though. Hack-'n-slash is not a very fun way to go.

You're in luck, my friend. Demon's Souls had spiked gauntlets and two other fist weapons to use on top of just bare-fisting. Dark Souls is likely to have at least those, as well.

This type of game will always have a shit ton of glitches, and it's very clear that From Software is not pulling a Splash Damage (Brink) by releasing a buggy piece of junk. There's merely some issues that need a little sorting and will likely be done in little time at all.

Also, 7/10 for getting me to reply.

Dark Souls and Battlefield 3 will keep me satiated for, well, the rest of the year. Awww yeah.

Because of the branching in that game, you could be on the 2nd boss or the 4th to last boss. Generally, though, a player would be on the 3rd-ish boss, beating Phalanx then Tower Knight then going on to Armor Spider.

It's not multiplatform in Japan. Only NA/PAL gets the 360 version.

Agreed on all but the swearing. In a zombie apocalypse, you'll hear just as much swearing, easily.

I'm having fun with the game, and have had very few bugs, at a level somewhere between Oblivion and Borderlands. Nothing game-wrecking for me.

It seems like Xbox users for this game experience very few problems compared to the PS3 gamers here. Quite odd.

People that pre-ordered the game get the content for free, so while it isn't really a bonus for pre-orderers since the content should have been on the disc to begin with, at the very least those that pre-ordered get the "full" experience for the regular retail price and not the retail price plus $10.

Not to justify this kind of DLC-stuff, but at least it's a little better than other companies, and encourages people to pre-order.

As the article says, it works just as well on consoles too. Hell yeah, infinite money!

For me it's just the timing. Black Ops JUST came out with a map pack, and a new CoD game is coming out a mere 2 months later. You don't get much play time for the new map packs since the next game will come out almost immediately after followed by its OWN DLC. Hence why I don't buy DLC anymore for CoD games.

It just sucks because I wouldn't mind paying $5 for each pack, but $15 is outrageous. Since other people pay for it, though, Activision is gonna keep 'dem prices high.

How are the 360 or PC versions faring?

I have the 360 version, and I've only lost progress on one really short, easy mission. The trick I've found is to not quit unless you've beaten the mission you're trying to do. If you, say, need to pick up and then deliver a teddy bear, don't quit after picking the teddy bear up or it will make you start over.

Sure, it has some bugs that need hammering out, but otherwise, I'd say it's one of t...

Frag, most retail Xbox games don't have a demo at all, especially Triple-A games. It's a shame because the games I'm on the fence about never have a demo.

Some games like Halo and Black Ops do have demos...that were released months after the game was released, by which point many people have already decided if they were going to buy the game full price or not. Quite disappointing, honestly.

Jack, 5 of those shooters are 360-exclusive, and this list is not at all indicative of whether or not shooters are the ONLY games that sell well on the 360.

Real gamers (that is, if we exclude the 12-year old CoD players) on the 360 want a good RPG. Look at Oblivion and Fallout, which sold very well on the 360. Look at Borderlands, even if it was a pseudo-RPG.

I say we just let the sales numbers do the talking, Kamikaze, because I'm willing to bet that, due to the huge number of 360s out there, there will be more sales for the 360 version. A much larger percentage of PS3 owners are going to buy it, sure, but I think you don't give "hardcore" gamers on the 360 nearly enough credit.

I own a copy of Demon's Souls and I don't even have a PS3, and essentially every friend of mine that has seen Demon's Souls...

The mere act of showing breasts is not anything to be concerned over, if it makes sense in context. It makes sense for Medusa to be naked, or for Beatrice's ghost to be naked, and I applaud game studios for showing things like this naturally, for the most part.

To throw huge boobs and an unrealistic outfit into a series that used to be ground in comparative realism without cheap sexual tricks is a mockery to Resident Evil fans, and serves no purpose except to make the gam...

From Software/Namco are both awesome for not having DLC in this game.

It's not that DLC for Demon's Souls wouldn't have been awesome. It absolutely would have, but having it runs the risk of turning into, well, Activision, or EA, etc etc.

The problem, A-Glorious-Dawn, isn't the installation. It's that the installation is *required* and takes a very long time.

If I pop in a game, I expect to be able to play it. I may only have a half hour that first time, or I may be low on harddrive space. I don't want my space/time forcibly wasted like this when the alternative is just a few seconds of disc-swapping and the ability to download *when it is convenient for me.*
