PSN has servers too, and I think there are actually more of them. Halo is P2P last time I checked.
And the value of XBL has dropped because competitors offer services that almost match it or are better, but they do it for free.
Basically you pay more than PS3 or Steam users for every game you buy, just so you can play it online.

COD and Battlefield are not exclusives.
Halo is up against Killzone and Resistance.
Gears goes up against Uncharted.
IMO, the PS3 exclusive shooters can stand up against the 360's exclusive shooters.

I usually wouldn't care since I haven't watched any of the movies since the pile of steaming crap that was the first one, but that title is really irritating to me.

After reading the article it sounds like it is a matter of perspective. You get to be the poor guy that is strapped to a bomb and holding a dead man trigger, and experience what I'm sure must be in the top 10 most horrible experiences.
Then you get to take the role of a person on the other side of the incident and make a decision to kill the person who you just were, or try and save him and risk numerous other lives.
It sounds like those COD4 cut scenes ...
I played a Star Trek Generations game that wasn't that bad.
Although I did just look it up, and that is not how I remember the game looking...
Star Trek online is supposed to be decent too, although I've never been able to play MMO's.

You would actually buy this? The stories in fighting games are always crap and the gameplay is going to be virtually the same in each iteration (or you already know which is best, so you will really only play one).
Even if you would buy it, almost no one else would. If they want to do a remake, they should pick one and make it a PSN/XBL release.

I had a lot of fun with it. It would be cool if they had a couple modes that slowed down the pace a little, but otherwise I thought the multiplayer was great.

Maybe the 360 version has an on-disc version as well? The last I heard this game was a few downloadable episodes. The article seems to imply that the 360 gets a full retail game disc, which will not be available on other platforms.
It is not very clear though.

I'm pretty sure bluray was a big win for Sony. It may have prevented some earlier games from going to the PS3, but they crushed HD-DVD, and we are seeing the benefits of the larger format in a lot of recent games.

The co-op helps a lot too, especially on more the bosses (especially the one where there are 2 of them). I played through about half the game myself and hit a wall.
I played the rest with my brother on a good internet connection and was able to get through it without too much trouble.
I also experienced the most epic fight I have ever had when I became the black phantom boss.
Must have lasted 15 minutes...
