IMO Apple makes the most from just being "trendy". They are constantly upgrading things just so people go and buy the newest version that is supposedly better.
I can't say I see them staying in the console "war" very long, seeing as they'll probably just release a new one that is slightly thinner and more glossy every 6 months.
Does Apple even make games? They would at least need some exclusives to be a threat.
ICO is incredibly rare, so I think that is what Clown is talking about.
Also, the PS2s weren't known for lasting very long. I'm sure the slims are fine, but I don't think most people are gonna downgrade if they have a non PS2 compatible PS3.
Team Ico, Legacy of Kain, and Mark of Kri would be great collections
Pretty sure that hasn't been confirmed.
It'd be awesome, but its just a rumor.
I just don't believe that Natal is capable of any interesting implementations. I have yet to see how you can move more than 3 feet in each direction, meaning its useless for moving in any real 3d world.
Right now it looks like a really fancy version of Pong. MS better have some insane games at E3.
But since every 360 comes with a Mic and I was under the impression that voice recognition was software based (seeing as how Seaman on the Dreamcast and Socom on the PS2 did it), why even bother with Natal?
I just don't understand how voice recognition is being labelled as a feature of hardware. Does it make every game automatically recognize voice? That could just be a 360 firmware update couldn't it?
Really you're just comparing stuff that costs too much to other stuff that costs too much. That doesn't really mean the price is good or fair.
MS is just going to market the cr@p out of Natal (like they have been), and people are going to buy the cr@p out of it regardless of price. They've been positioning Natal as revolutionary tech and therefore worth the cost. They are not going to market themselves as cheaper than competitors (especially not at first) because ...
I kind of think that the answer to both of your questions is "a bunch" and "yes."
I think the article actually mentioned the support of a bunch of third party companies, and I suspect MS is at least giving incentive to develop for Natal. It's not like they haven't done it before...
I don't particularly like the idea of Natal, or see how it could be useful in core games, but it will have developer backing.
Most people would try to explain why they think that, but sure, I guess a couple people will think you have a valid opinion for absolutely no reason at all...
I don't think that is true. Bungie would make a better game if it was 360 exclusive, and Insomniac would make a better game if it was PS3 exclusive. I'm sure their respective multiplatform games will be great, but now they have to deal with the unique limitations of each console.
My main concern (being as I don't own a 360) is the xbox's disc space. Although to be honest I don't know how much of the bluray disc Insomniac has utilized up to this point, so i...
I actually found one of the best horses (white w/ dark face) but then I got attacked by a boar on foot. I went into panic mode because he kept running me down and almost killing me. I jumped on the horse in an attempt to get a better angle on it, but that ended badly. He sacrificed himself to save me!
Finally killed the dam boar, but it was even more epic because it was the first time I had ever seen one. I see something standing by a bush and I just thought to myself "...
I played FF13 for about the same amount of time (I got to the father/son reunited bit), and I just gave up. I normally don't play FF games, but the hype for it made me give it a try. Unfortunately I found it to be remarkably tedious.
I mean they had me playing as the defender for at least an hour and a half. WTF! Is that supposed to be fun? Let me just stand here for 20 minutes per battle and take hits...I wanted to buy a ticket to Japan and choke the developers.
...
Well now you've gone and done it. You could have slipped through the cracks, but now they'll be coming for you.
"NOOO MY NAME IS SCOTCH! SCOOOOOTCH!! mfbmmfbthh [this is you smothering under an scottssassin pillow]
The entire main quest was boring, and I felt like it was really poorly put together. The beginning was pretty god at trying to make you care about the characters, but when the main "twist" happens, I just didn't care in the slightest.
The game itself was pretty fun, and some of the side-quests were enjoyable, but they really needed to make the main story interesting.
It sounds like it's 2.5D, but there will be a lot more you can do behind the curtain this time around.
Instead of making a complicated control screen for something like space invaders (and hiding sackboy behind a wall), they'll allow you to make control screens for things you make instead of sackboy. So you could make a character that moves vertically and horizontally (but not on the z axis), and you manipulate them top-down like a Zelda game. I'm just guessing,...
After reading the review, I hope they do a 3d dot heroes 2 with he play, create, share mantra. That could be pretty kick ass.
I think it's more of a poll.
I'm more concerned with how 59 votes have been cast and the indicator is still dead center. I like the idea though.
Edit: NM I just voted and it moved slightly. I think it needs more voting options (like "could be" and "doubt it").
Why do people like that tool? He is such an assh*le, talking sh!t about other developers and even his own dev team just for making a PS3 version of the game.
I honestly don't know what he could contribute anyway. Would he demand even bigger breasts?
Well aren't we in a pleasant mood today?
I don't think Serenity was that well directed or even that good a story (neither were the other 2 series). It was fan service for those who enjoyed the TV series. I think that people who never saw the film would probably have difficulty following it.
Of course when I think directing I think cinematography and I can't think of any of his series being shot in any particularly interesting way. Then again I kind of didn't like any of that stuff if you haven't pic...
