Burn-in is the a thing of the PAST on Plasmas
The RESPONSE time of LCDs has caught up to Plasmas
Colors on LCDs are much IMPROVED since earlier generations - almost equal footing now but a slight advantage for plasma nonetheless
Plasmas LAST longer than before thanks to improvements in their casing
You CAN DEFINITELY tell the difference between 720p & 1080p on smaller sets in regards to GAMING - TV no since most networks broadcas...
Not only is a post by you devoid of any console drivel, I completely agree w/ the point you made. Bubbles for a good, honest post.
I'm looking forward to the animated movie too on the 28th, but EA should've released it on the 14th as well. It's doesn't affect the game or the story at all, but it is a backdrop to the overall story since the movie's events occur simutaneously w/ the game (comic focuses on a mining colony and newly discovered "artifact" and movie reveals...
check into Dead Space a little more. This may be the holiday's best and least known game. Ironically it's from EA - but that means it's multiplatform and everyone can enjoy it!! Now I never go strictly by reviews on purchases, but this one is getting 9s from everyone including the PC media. I enjoyed the animated comic strip and will be buying its animated (and full length) cousin on Blu Oct. 28th.
it has trophies....hmmn
wth, I've wasted more money on worse things
didn't the producer say before in an interview that he failed in the 3D realm but is intent on conquering that aspect? I wouldn't be suprised to see another attempt at 3D....(sigh)
I think you hit the nail on the head on a number of points. I have even contended before here that achievements/trophies may even save the single player genre altogether as co-op/multi becomes increasingly more popular. And yes, it's a very fair and unbiased look at an aspect of this gen.
The Japanese don't have a clue about shooters. They only invented the cover system (winback) and the stealth genre (mgs), which every modern FPS/TPS employs...
/end sarcasm
over all the fanboys. COD:WoW getting glowing previews from IGN and now this. I'll have to keep an eye on this, but given both consoles' healthy Xmas line-ups, it might be a rental on most gamer's wish lists.
ILLogical. Why would you spend $50 at retail (at a later date no less!) for the headset when it can be purchased WITH Socom for $10 more? Trade the game back to GS if you want and spend the cash on something else and you'll still have the mic cheaper than buying it separately. I guarantee they'll take it. I've seen used Eye of Judgement skus sitting there w/o the camera for sale.
yup me2 - this is a disturbing trend I see. First they got me to preorder 2 copies of LBP at different stores for the "exclusive" kratos & nariko skins and now bonus missions on FarCry2. I wont even get started on DLC, exclusive or otherwise.
he is saying put all on the ps1 & ps2 catalogs on the PSN and sony could eliminate the need for BC altogether. That way, instead of paying $ to Gamestops & pawn shops for used games, you're giving the money to Sony. If every ps1 & ps2 game (via PSN) has the option of remote play for the PSP and/or HD resolutions for the PS3, sign me up as well. It's a very viable option for Sony if they they make PSN cards readily available.
you might want to let the 360 pass the original xbox's userbase before claiming victory, err 2nd place?
A weekly sales spike is one thing, doing it over the course of a month in Japan was indeed something unexpected. I don't care if it was due to price cuts or jrpgs or even if a damn tsunami hit Sony's warehouse. This ardent Sony supporter recognizes the need for all three to be viable. The industry is big enough now to support all 3 companies. And didn't Nintendo teach us last gen 3rd place can be profitable? Instead of incessantly complaining, why not just tip your hat and move on?

One of my good friends who works as a manager of GS came back from their recent convention gushing about DS. So I preordered it. The latest issue of GI came in the mail last week. And I quote the last paragraph, "DS can't come soon enough - we loved what we played so far and can't wait to see where it goes next. Unless this game falls apart as it progresses, it deserves serious GOTY buzz."
And to Motts, not all of us are sleeping on Far Cry2 either. :D
You're right in every sense, but the one thing I do see true in this article is both Sony and MS wont focus on specs but rather price. We've heard from both camps (Stringer the latest) how they admire the business model of Nintendo, i.e. turning a profit on every console so early in its life cycle. I'm not saying both will make a huge paradigm shift in their approach but we wont see an exponential leap in tech like ps1:ps2:ps3 or xbox:xbox360. I don't expect any of the next gen consoles to re...
We need the good movies to release in the format. No way in hell am I buying Broke Back Mountain on Blu for the sake of Blu. Give me friggin Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Gladiator, first 2 Aliens, Braveheart, the old Indy trilogy, etc...Gimme some damn movies worth owning. Thank god the Matrix comes on the 14th of October. And Dragonball on Blu is a start, but where the hell is Ninja Scrolls and other classic anime at? /end rant. I blame the movie companies for such a grotesque introductory li...
God I hope that was sarcasm because nobody and I mean NO ONE could seriously believe your idiotic conspiracy theories. Sony paying out of pocket to make American web sites disparage MS and the 360? They can't even afford to market their own merchandise properly! Put these braindead comments under your 2nd account, Mr. Concrete, cause they were definitely thick-headed.
ON TOPIC: It is a nice list to be sure. Lots of quality still coming in 08 and beyond. Bubbles up OZ on your ha...
Your trolling isn't very good. I suggest visiting the ESPN message boards and learn how to properly do it.
for anything but honesty. Blame Guardian for taking a single interview and breaking it into several pieces designed to generate massive hits due to its volatile nature - mission accomplished.
But I still think the input lag is neglible on LCDs nowadays compared to generations past. Then it was a huge problem for gamers. I've yet to encounter a situation where I could exclusively blame my death on it. Usually, it's just my bad aim lol. Bubbles to you my friend...
And I apologize to anyone who reads my earlier post and it comes off mean-spirited. I get so annoyed with people who say that crap about not being able to notice a difference between 720p and 1080p on smalle...
