you drunk or sleepy? Either way go to bed
cue the puff pieces for Ninja Theory. Like what we saw happen with Deathloop and Tokyo, the MS marketing team is starting the hype machine early. So we see the revisionist history with their past games. Suddenly it's the best in the series lol. They've never made a bad game, they've just never made a successful one. Now, right or wrong because of the timing, their new game has the extra pressure of being the face of GP in 2022 alongside Starfield and Redfall. A lot of pressure for...
that's amusing to me Eonjay because it's the level of commitment from Sony that I'm worried about. 3rd party publishers? Don't worry amigo . They flock to where the money is. If Sony pushes this with stout marketing, perhaps releases it for PC, and most importantly has ND, Santa Monica, Insomniac, Guerilla, and Sucker Punch support it with quality titles, 3rd parties will rush to fill the gaps that Indies can't. VR1 didn't get Sony's full support; almost like they ...
don't you fret, Orchard will come n ease your worries mate!
well you figured MS would have to raise the price of series G at some point. They practically been giving them away to every trailer park in America n MS is still behind by 10 mil. I wonder if next gen they'll actually try to sell games to sell systems?
exactly. They bought 7 studios before acquiring Bethesda. They had more devs than Sony before these major acquisitions. And nothing of merit, outside a kickstarter game and two games signed to exclusive deals by their competitor. MS' middle management is flat out terrible. I look for nothing to change, they'll bleed these newly acquired properties dry like Minecraft and shutter them
and didn't they announce a new Alone in the Dark?
exactly
bingo. There ya go. MS only wanted to increase marketshare with a low cost entry level console. Without the G how bad would things be right now for MS? Sony has sold 30mil PS5's while Series G/X sits collectively around 20mil. Which means in reality its flagship console has sold less than 10mil. Look at Japan. All those Uncle Phil trips to the Land of the Rising Sun resulted in 100k sales last year there (55% G sales) and a bunch of old games going to GP. Woohoo!
don't know whether you sold me on VR2 or Kentucky Fried Chicken or both but I'll take it
I don't know how you judge a platform's value Bathy but I use 3 criteria: software, hardware, and services. I place the ratio to about 40:30:30 in relative importance. Using this formula Sony's the only one that excels in all 3 categories. They make great games, hardware consistently moves the industry forward, and aside from growing pains during the early PS3 days, PSN has made huge strides in stability. Can they continue to improve? Absolutely. Without question though they try...
that's MS' track record at delivering 1st party the last decade.
if you had told me 10 years ago xbox fans would be championing an old portable JRPG game coming to their platform I'd have shaken my head at the notion. But this is the reality we live in. Selling a sub service via 1st party games without any 1st party games. Brilliant! Best value in gaming!
don't forget Virginia. If Calvin is the dog, her skiddish nature makes her the cat. Kinda like how the author phrased it. Pretty harsh there's no option to disable companions other than an arrow to the head lol
I got news to break it to ya amigo. Nintendo has great 1st party sales numbers because there is no 3rd party competition. How much does CoD sell annually on PS? Compare that to MH Rise, which is the Switch's best selling 3rd party game ALL-TIME at 9mil. See the difference?
And YES selling 10 mil is a great accomplishment. So selling 20 is fantastic regardless of pool size. Are you going to suggest Diablo 3 for example was a flop because it only sold 20mil to an estimate...
when the PS4 is outperforming Series G/X you know it's bad.
nope. Looking forward to trying Redfall. It's free right? But let's not kid ourselves. Deathloop was straight trash, worst money I spent on a game the year it launched. Reviews were agenda driven and definitely not merit based. Same with Tokyo and Psychonauts 2, although at least those were decent
"put in a code for a specific friend to join"
looks like ex-Nintendo employees work at From. Never should there be fucking codes associated with co-op.
wow. Have you even looked Sony's and Nintendo's 1st party sales? This would be the list to end all lists. Honestly go do some research and you'll understand why I have so much animosity vs MS right now. They haven't had a 10mil seller since Halo 3. IndiePass ensures they never will again. GOWR passed 10mil in 10 weeks. Do they even care? Wouldn't be a real issue if they weren't trying to kill off third party sales
toy story 3 was probably the best kid's game I've ever played. Maybe Scooby Doo and 100 Frights. Very rare that a dev/pub puts that type of quality in a kid's licensed property
