ya see that's my problem with the service - IndiePass. We've been duped into believing there would be day 1 games from MS. The last 16 months have been crickets. No offense but the value is very underwhelming to me. I can buy the Ascent for $10 on sale right now. That money I wasted on GP this month could've BOUGHT that game. If MS could release just a couple games a year I want to play then GP would pay for itself.
Seriously, it's hilarious to see one side...
didn't Avowed get scrapped and restarted? Or was that a rumor? It is my most wanted MS IP. Points 1 and 5 definitely should be there. Points 8-10 are dead in the water. The rest unlikely. Maybe points 4 & 6 - what's going with Double Fine these days? Methinks your personal interests have a better chance of being there in some form. Would love to see what's going on with Indiana Jones. I don't care how far along in development it is
This is what a sequel should aspire to - looks phenomenal compared to the first. Bigger in scope yet retains the familiarity of the original. One of the few games last gen I double-dipped and bought a Steam copy after I finished the console version. Go Gunfire!
RedFall is the worst 1st party release in the last decade by ANY of the platform holders. GP is garbage if that's the quality we can look forward to. I guess it's up another AA indie title to prop up the service since MS sold us on fake bill of goods. What else do you need besides the last 16 months of crickets then Redfall? MS might as well shadowdrop a remastered N64 Superman at this point.
I could add dozens more to the list but that's a good start. MGS though I need everything either remade, remastered, or director's cutted for modern hardware. ASAP. I would remake FF9 1st - the whole 1-6 collection could be redone with modern graphics or using the Octopath aesthetic. Keep them turn based so old FF fans can revel in the OG games remaining faithful to their roots. Lots of these old school companies could rotate 2D and 3D variants of games like Nintendo does. In case o...
fingers crossed. God hope we don't get another Turok situation. Old, great IP from N64 days gets a new game only for it be that travesty released on the 360. Turok in name only. Please don't be that, please don't be that...
that's honestly as long as I tried it. FPS is my favorite genre and I was hoping to have some fun with it despite the shoddy reception. But the shooting mechanics are awful and the graphics are just plain fugly. Really does look like an early 360 game. Setting is terrible; Salem circa 1700AD would've been a much better fit. Could've used some of that Dishonored pedigree when designing weapons
Bethesda tried to buy the studio. When Human Head said they wanted to remain independent Bethesda canceled the game, bankrupting them. Very scummy move. Didn't surprise me though - this is the same Todd Howard who essentially took Ken Rolston's credit for making Elder Scrolls open world. Ever wonder why there is very little innovation to ES since Morrowind? Ken left early in Oblivion's development and Todd is a hack
EDIT: worst part is via developer diary thing...
+1. As you get older some of those MMO's become out of the question. But I love playing with my mates. Got a pair from Prince George I've been playing with since Socom II. We play anything military from Rainbow to Insurgency but time to time I get'em to play Destiny or Division or Borderlands. Looters are my fav co-op but enjoyed Monster Hunter enough to platinum it. I'll try anything once
Been playing SP games since Nintendo invented the game save. That ain...
why? This is what they want to do. Arkane made it clear making the abysmal Deathloop this was the direction they were headed and NOT returning to games like Dishonored and Prey. Perfect marriage if you ask me...
should be Day 1 on console, 12 months later PS+, 24 months later PC port. Looks like they're going to employ D1, 6 months later PS+, 12 months later PC port. Sony never has stated their policy before, always "a case by case basis". My biggest question: why was Iron Galaxy then handling the tLoU PC port Herman? Ain't that why Sony bought Nixxes? So this studio could handle the porting duties? Wut happened? Don't treat your best IPs like an afterthought because you want ...
say what you will Aloy, he is right about Days Gone. Middling reviews, launched at 30 FPS and I greatly enjoyed it despite the criticism. Here's hoping Redfall is good. Vamps always the get the short end of the stick in video games
I most certainly did amigo. That's why I referenced CoD specifically and applied his logic to GOWR's sales and the two upcoming juggernauts, one of which isn't 1st party either. If both sell like gangbusters he has no argument. It's just Sony noting, "yes your last CoD was shit Bobby. Do better."
lol what's MS' excuse? PS5 game sales negatively impact Xbox game sales? Honestly trying to indicate a trend over one game is deceptive and short sighted. Let's see if FF16 and Spiderman2 suffer the same results. Methinks this has more to do with the shitty quality of annual CoD's rather than the higher price sticker (poo wittle Bobbi). I'm expecting both to put up GOWR numbers.
um yeah once Sony releases day and date on PC THEN IT WILL BE THE SAME.
Until then IT'S NOT. There's no extra layer to decipher here, how many copies did GOWR on PC sell?
Why do xbox fans always argue apples to oranges comparisons? The other day some Xbox guy tried to equate the No Man Sky launch failure to the Redfall controversy. One's 1st party w/ a year delay and the other was an indie dev who suffered through a flood and had to have computers dona...
I do appreciate the consistency. But it's not the same scenario: 1st party dev vs. indie dev of about 20 ppl? It's not like they had to start over because of a flood or something. What's Arkane's excuse after MS gave them a year delay? Maybe if Bethesda was independent Redfall would've been delayed until ready. We'll never know now
or it could be it will be the best of the new IPs by a wide margin. Sony was given the pick of the litter. I'm actually pissed about the whole Wo Long situation as RoTK period is one of my favorite historical subject matters. Of course it's KT so the wailing guitar riffs, the awful Dynasty Warrior skins, etc...make the obligatory appearance. Then throw it out there on a platform knowing it will never sell probably means the end of RoTK as a game.
nice. And Fatal Frame sold 120k. Wo Long had piss poor sales thanks to GP. Didn't even sell 100k. Neither did Wild Hearts. KT believes Rise of the Ronin can sell 5mil, so does Sony as well by publishing it. We'll see if it can capture that GoT vibe
you expect Xbox fans to buy 3 mil plus? Surely you jest. Maybe 300k if Capcom's lucky
my question; this the 1st of a 5 game deal. Why would you lead with this game instead of ANY of the others? I like stealth games. I love LotR. Really don't have much of a desire to play as Gollum a whole game
