nothing i love more than a high profile hair pulling fight.
this actually drives me crazy. i hate recognizing (or worse, sort of recognizing and trying to figure out who it is) someone's voice in a game. i'm a big fan of professional voice actors.
it will be good promotion for the format as such a high profile movie, but all these back and forth labelling of "savior", etc. is getting silly. one movie isn't going to make or break either format, and neither is at the point of collapse (thus, no saviors required).
usually when things have been rumoring this hard, they're true. I'm fully expecting the rumble reveal at TGS, and I hope it hits store shelves a.s.a.p. It'll give me a good reason to pick up those extra two controllers! While rumble doesn't make or break my gaming experience, I'm looking forward to trying out the new rumble.
this illustrates perfectly why we need officials who follow the Constitution, not some litigious bent.
I am not so optimistic to think that people that would like to pass video game laws will be extinct anytime soon. elected officials and politicians are increasingly interested in micro-governing. We need more people like Julie to remind them of the Constitution, and that we live in a system that use judicial precedent, not Napoleanic Code.
uh, and how exactly does this scenario play out? they buy up all the copies of halo hoping that everyone says, "well, since halo isn't here guess I'll pick up BlackSite..."
it's one thing to support your game, it's another to make a fool of yourself with ridiculous claims. games far better than BlackSite aren't throwing themselves in front of the Halo train.
of all the good things you could argue bill gates has done, i would not count that foundation among them.
"benefit from a sequel"? how about "get it right the first time" for a motto. i think devs everywhere should treat that like the hippocratic oath. can you imagine marketing the sequel to a game that would "benefit" from it? "try it again, we think we've got it this time!! really!!" lol

b)how esrb ratings work.
the ESRB does not preclude retailers from selling the game to anyone, it's simply a rating to let people know the recommended audience. retailers can opt to not sell m-rated games to kids, but it's unconstitutional to demand that they not.
you have to believe the guy that wrote this never played it. someone should really send him a copy.
put simply, a multi-platform engine means jack about exclusivity. so unless you truly have access to top-secret eat it before it self destructs information, this doesn't mean anything for exclusive titles.

Well Insomniac acknowledged that they had strayed from the things that make ratchet great, and I appreciate their return to the original formula. i'm totally looking forward to uncharted and am psyched it's a new experience, but a great ratchet game is still gold to me.
and it's totally addictive. we've had people over constantly playing that game online. it's too much fun.
good list, and as much as i'm confident that R&C, Uncharted and CoD4 will be amazing games I would've liked to have seen this list in December -- after we've gotten to play these games. Then we could compare them to great games we already have (Warhawk, etc.).
