lol, I think the version off psn is more fun than the flash game. though it still made me feel like I was trapped in an elevator watching enya teach a science class.
agreed, next time I'll change the title to "Gaming for Real: ps3/360/wii/blu-ray/hd dvd FTW!" er, or something.
I've only been in the top 10 twice Will, but yeah, I hope to keep it up.
too bad the kid didn't play elder scrolls, then he would have known to run and jump around a lot, sneak up on it, cast some spells, summon some armor and a ghost and then kill it to level up. what a moose-fighting n00b. ;)
Congrats everyone -- little extra cash for the holidays!
Indeed. And I think when it comes to games like these they definitely appeal to younger girls; my niece would go crazy for the pets game. I just couldn't tell a guy friend to recommend "Sally's Salon" to his girlfriend without fear of a falling out. ;)
yeah, I think it can. I was trying to figure out if some of those suggestions were tongue in cheek. I'd never recommend those games to a friend, especially if they don't game. I can just imagine:
"Hey, play Carrie the Caregiver!"
"Are you kidding me? I have three kids and a husband, I'm already playing Carrie freaking caregiver. Give me a real game."
personally, I think Ms. Hassbroek's suggestions are a little...the word ridiculous comes to mind. But hey, maybe she knows something I don't and I could have all my friend gaming if only I'd buy them "Carrie the Caregiver". If only.
nice to get another perspective on the much debated topic. while good points are made, and I certainly don't buy into the assertion that there's a mountain of wii's in a Nintendo holding tank, I remain skeptical of the situation. I have witnessed first hand wii's being stockpiled on the retail end (much to my personal frustration) and marvel at a business model that has such inelastic supply for an overwhelmingly successful product -- even considering the overwhelming demand.
good lists -- I couldn't believe how many DS games I forgot to add to my xmas list!
Japan only for now -- this is the kind of stuff I hope really takes off and makes it Stateside. Would make taking my DS with me when I travel that much more fun.
have to agree that if I had to choose I'd rather get a game. I look forward to trying it, but I was reminded when playing Portal the other day how annoying rumble can be.
"Whats the point of these lists......hardly anybody agrees with them. We all have our favorites that we used to play."
lol, if you follow that logic then why would anyone write an opinion about anything! No reviews, editorials, debates, or n4g comments!
well, er, somewhere in there i totally agreed with you. the two best GH and RB players I know are real (as in really good) musicians.
All I can say is this could be so much fun. I'm already looking forward to it -- good thing it sounds like an early 2008 release.
i loved those stupid squirrel commercials; laughed every time.
as many above have said with so much certainty: there will be a sequel. games with stories like this are built for sequels, and for Naughty Dog this game is like the next gen Jak and Daxter; there's bound to be more. (and of course, more Jak and Daxter, too)
I thought it was funny, too. it seemed a revelation to them that we, the "older generation" -- apparently the ripe age of 25 counts -- grew up with and stuck with gaming. and we have full-time jobs to support our hobby!
Edit @ Snoop: yeah, my sister in laws father plays C&C, too.
it seems like many of us agree that at first it seems cool, but when you get down to it it's hard to imagine a (repeat) scenario for this. I tried to think of one personally, and all I could come up with was it would be fun if my folks, who live far away, and I could sit down and "watch a movie together" using this feature. But then there's a huge time difference, and work, and yes, what happens when I need to go refill the popcorn bowl or their phone rings? I think the biggest s...
If you have a PS3 and you don't have a gaming PC or a 360, you have to buy this, frame rate issues or not. I think Gamespot gave it a 9/10 b/c in spite of the frame rate issues it's by far one of the best returns on your money this year in gaming.
