congrats everyone!
thanks for the stats, looks like i'm moving up in the world. :P
I like achievements and I look forward to having them on the PS3, too. Now, MS didn't invent achievements, but that said who cares if it seems like Sony is copying? If I like something about one of my consoles, why wouldn't I want the others to have that feature? People can argue that achievements don't add value to games, but I disagree, anything fun adds value to games. I'm a longtime Ratchet fan and I've always loved going after skill points, they add gameplay value, they're fun, gimme...
"Valdemort"? Maybe when they start reading the books the movie was based on that the video game is based on that the...well, you get where I'm going. Most games based on movies are just a cash-in based on a cash-in. Until people take pride in the work, they'll be little more than that; a cash-in.
yeah, really challenges your suspension of disbelief, lol.
sorry for working blue, guys, but this whole thing cracked me up.
hah, you've got to be kidding! First of all, this is GOOD NEWS for MS, as these states are proving unable to uphold their antitrust decrees. Additionally, here's a link to my submissions for review: http://www.n4g.com/up/12649...

I think users have every right to be peeved. I'll qualify that and say it's no cause for apocalyptic outcry. If you're paying for a service and the service stops working, you have a right to appeal to the service provider. It's just business. It would be in MS interests to preserve positive customer relations with a discount/deal/free month, and it would be in gamers' interests to take a deep breath, admit defeat, and play off-line for a bit.
huh? I'm an adult, I think I'll go ahead and play online, thanks!
not a myth, mythic!
as for the news, the guy is clearly a rat but that sort of ratty-ness is by no means limited to XBL. For everyone that keeps commenting that he just said stuff over XBL, read the article; the dude drove forty hours straight and was outside her house. super rat.
non-hardcores?!?! MK Red, if you haven't played Rock Band for 8 hours straight, you haven't lived!! ;)
no kidding; when I play games with my niece and nephew we play racing games, guitar hero and viva pinata type stuff. that said, my four yr old nephew still knows the difference between playing a game and beating up the neighbor kid.
big ol' "whatever". Rock Band/Harmonix have exposed GHIII/Activision for the money grubbers they are. Thanks to Harmonix for taking the genre to next gen awesomeness.
EDIT: thanks to thornh for catching my "Christmas Brain", I meant Rock Band/Harmonix. omg, I need vacation...or more Rock Band!
@ Brainiac: You have got to be kidding me.
@ MK: Thank you! Spot on with points 2 and 3.
well if you read the article you'll see it's from NintendoWiiFanboy, and in this recurring series from Mike Sylvester he typically addresses the "world of possibilities" for the Wii. As he says, this time around he's giving the Wii "tough love".
yeah, it was a bit misleading. I got really optimistic; gimme my free game!!
last day to order on Amazon! :P
It does seem strange, and I wondered the same thing. While I can explain away the 9/10 (The Orange Box is an amazing value, and I think PS3-only households should still get it) in spite of frame rate issues, I wouldn't expect that sort of generosity from Gamespot.
lol, yup, that about sums it up.
you could have watched the liveblogs, but it's over now. :(
