I get to play this game really soon. I'm going to reserve judgment on it until then. As for being linear, didn't they show the characters running around a world map kind of area with all kinds of wildlife you can fight? THAT didn't look like a hallway, so maybe it's not as bad as they say...
Open world RPG's don't usually carry a nice gripping story. FF13 seems to be centered more around the characters than the world they're in, so focusing on that makes more sense than to be tol...
The sad part is that you're trying to differentiate them all.
REALLY?!
No, Really?
MAG, Medal of Honor, Bad Company, CoD (yearly), and many many others.. do we NEED anymore of these games? And another SOCOM at that. They MUST not think people will be playing MAG for very long if they throw Zipper onto another SOCOM game. Can't they just focus on making MAG more amazing? Let's hope Sony makes big money off of this game, and then spends it all on a game that does something great. You can tell they don't listen to anything their f...
GIMME A NEW TOMBA.
Come on now, we all know Sony couldn't care less about RPG's this gen.
GOOD CALL.
Damn. Guess I better cross off my most anticipated game announcement.
None surpassed the original IMO. Big fan of the first one, didn't care much for the rest of them.
Tenchu Z needs to be erased from existence though, I can't believe they even released that thing.
That would totally ruin the excitement for me.. Others might be more happy to hear about a new Sly Cooper, I hear people enjoyed it.
It could be anything though..
Too bad it's not a new Legend of Dragoon.
Dishing out hits like machine gun fire huh? Well, I'm not biting.
It needed all the RPG's the DS had basically. It also needed something as good as Pokemon. It DID have Monster Hunter though, which in my opinion was better, but generally I don't think that's how it pans out in terms of popularity and sales (not that they matter much to me, but from a business standpoint it totally does).
More bundles too? I dunno. You could say stuff about UMD's, but meh. They worked fine with the PSP, they did what they were intended to do (play the games). <...
I definitely had the most fun playing games in the 90's/early 2000's, that's for sure. I sort of realized though the old RPG's I can still enjoy not because I grew up with them or they hold some sort of nostalgic memories. They're just not what games are like today, on a money/value/playtime level, and on a quality level. Believe it or not, but many of those games have more gameplay mechanics than most games these days. I wouldn't say they're more matured, I think they're just more watered do...
The game looks fun, even though it carries a big wipeout feel to me. As long as the game runs fine, I don't care. A fun game is a fun game, and only time will tell. When's this release again?
I didn't own an N64, but when I got my hands on one I was in gaming bliss. I would actually trade my PSX to my friend so I could just sit and play goldeneye and Quest 64 and others for a week or so each time.
You can really see them slowly climbing back up there in that aspect though. Eventually they'll have first party studios that produce the top games in each genre. They just need to secure more RPG developers. Now that I think of it, they really should have bought out Square before they merged.
This Playstation generation has been a hollow one. For the simple fact that we have an over abundance of FPS's polluting the system, we're not seeing Playstation the same way fans of the PSX had. Long-time PS fanboys, in all honesty should really pipe down. The PS fanboys of old were not FPS junkies. Trust me, I knew mannnnny of them.
The RPG's just aren't there anymore. If budget's a problem, make a smaller game, sell it for 30-40 bucks, and make it look like a PSP game or somet...
YOU GET TO KILL HERCULES!? :o
That's gonna be awesome. I hope he puts up a good fight..

I dunno how they run firmware updates to be honest, but I downloaded an update for Life with Playstation and all was good.
The system's clock should really not affect the entire system like that... Something just sounds ridiculous about that whole thing.
I didn't say I hate shooters, did I?
I was just hoping for something that wasn't, you know.. Realistic military action, or whatever they're calling them today.
Anyways, there are sure to be some gems. I'll just have to wait a bit longer.
