It may be funny, but has anyone been questioned about their console preference and consoles you own? I've gotten that question thrown at me in multiple interviews, and believe me, it's almost as serious as the "Have you ever been convicted of a federal crime?" types of questions. Why these questions are a part of interviews I do not know, but it's almost as ridiculous as asking what brand of toothpaste you use, or whether you like Star Wars or Star Trek.
Just a note to ...
If rendering things in 3D has taught me anything, it's that Ambient Occlusion passes make things look nicer than they actually are. A bunch of cubes can look fantastic with an AO pass. If it works the way I think it will, this will be a much better looking game than GeOW2. I wonder if their normal map sizes will be bigger as well, it seemed to be the big thing their models showed off really well in the first two games. I'm pumped to see new the footage using UE3!
UE is not a bad ...
My money's on an old Rare game coming back. They seem to be done with the avatars for the NXE, soooo.
It's gotta be KI or something they did before. MS doesn't have a big fighting game that's exclusive yet, well.. Maybe DOA.. But C'mon. DOA, lol? Or KI? They need KI. I need KI. Let's have KI.
I was saying the same thing 2 years ago. Easily the worst generation so far, haha.
No really, it has been.
Sorry Capcom, but the absolute best games I played this generation are all "too Japansese". One of them happens to be one of your games, so...
I wonder if they're willing hopping into that hole SE has been stuck in since their merger.
Miyamoto is a modern-day Houdini. That man is a master of illusion.
“Halo is full of these bullshlt archetypal characters”
Ok. I didn't see the words "Halo is bullshlt" there.
I'll admit, the story and characters are really "meh". No I shouldn't need to read books to appreciate the story, we're talking about video games not books. The game *should* deliver the story to me, not books written within the Halo universe. The gameplay however is a lot of fun and holds a ton of features that overshadows most if not all m...
Sure they do.
3D will be the next graphical barrier to break through though. You can only make a flat display look so real right? If it looks like an FPS-style film, then that's as good as it will get. 3D will take the flat presentation and bring it out just like black and white advanced with color.
But yes, the motion controls should take a backseat this gen, at least until they are widely preferred among the core gamer.
Nice post, I agree with all of it.
Mouse and keyboard generally is better I find. RTS's are usually superior when using it, fast-paced shooters too. Adventure games I'm not too fond of on PC though. I was very pleased to see that UT3 had M&KB support on PS3, I thought it would spark something great but I guess not.
Hell, even my Wacom tablet works on it. Why are they not taking advantage of stuff like that?
Mario Paint was f**king awesome btw.
You're a funny guy, Champ.
New GPU's are all PC's need, is that what you're saying? The only component you ever need to upgrade?
So I have a 5 or 6 year old PC, and I'd like it to run Crysis on full at 30+FPS.
-I think I might want some new RAM for that. Not a whole lot more, just a few GB's more, you know, like 4 or 6 total. Add that to the bill.
-I think I might want to get me a new CPU seeing as this standard dual core one is outdated som...
"Be nice to the bad guys" is all I really gathered from this.
Looks pretty good to me!
Only iffy spot was when the huge slab of concrete fell on the car and didn't even leave a dent or scratch. Other than that, it looks great for a multi platform game. You cannot deny that.
I'd hit it.
With something long and hard too.
A tire iron comes to mind. Call it "repellent".
The Crysis screens look to be lacking some AA, so I wouldn't say they look bad. As stills, maybe, but in action I guarantee you they won't look like that.
Even so, Killzone 2 is a benchmark of sorts, and it's been out for a while. The competition is heating up for sure.
BTW to all the people going off about PC Crysis, buying copmonents that allow you to run it at absolute full at like 30 FPS is not as feasible as paying $320.00-ish for a console and playing it at wha...
Hahah I KNEW these were going to come out today!
I don't get it. Why is the word "celebrity" tied to xbox events now?
That ricochet thing again? Ehhhhh.... I'll reserve judgment until E3.
You'd think they were owned by Activision or something, they bang out a new Silent Hill every year it seems.
It's been a dead series for me since the second one. Despite the original being one of my favorite games of all time, that series needs to "officially" die. It's kinda like how you still hear new Tupac and Biggie tracks all the time, but you know they've been dead for a while.
Great news, but I don't want to see a Demon's Souls game every 2 years now that gets progressively worse. It pretty much sums up 100% of series I loved in the past. Yeah, 100%.
While DS was stellar, I have a feeling that DS 2 might be kinda like when someone does something funny the first time, and notices people laugh, so they keep on doing it until you just want to punch them (see: Sequels).
Kinda happy/kinda worried. I hope they know what they're doing, because DS...
