I doubt RE6 is going to be ruined. It's an iterative title of the previous games. RE ORC is a spinoff title.
I haven't played Left 4 Dead yet, but I think Dead Island has that whole Resident Evil feel not just from the atmosphere, but the high emphasis on item collection. DI is more on the Survival Horror side of the equation than it is a FPS title.
I don't think gaming websites told them to "shut up," but it's the attitude that some of these outlets have with these kinds of articles.
