No. They lost to Sony. They didn't "walk away" from anything. And console gaming was never their "core business".
It starts and ends with games. PS4 will be bringing a boatload of exclusive games over to PS5. Microsoft had better have a launch library like no other in the history of consoles for Xbox to even matter.
