Look who didn't read the article!
Quoted:
* Blu-Ray discs don't play back in 720p. They do now, although it took until May.
* Games don't play back in 1080i unless they're specifically programmed to (and the ones you want to play, aren't). Quick unscientific study of 14 PlayStation 3 game boxes sitting around my TV says that 10 only support 720p, and the other 4 support both 1080p and 1080i. Conclusion: Sony's 2006 fetishization of 1080p notwithstanding, 1080-anyt...
Remember last week when EA was saying they saw big mergers as a thing of the past? This is just proof that they thought they'd bought everything. This transaction proves there are things out there EA hasn't bought yet. So now, they're back in the game.
EA already bought everything.
For anyone who doesn't know, Subaru got its start in America from Gran Turismo 1. This news is mOLD.
Exactly. Two-player means 2 players. Not one player and one guy waving a wand at the screen. Two-player would be Mario and Luigi in the same level. Once Miyamoto works that out, THAT will be perfection. This isn't perfection- this is a gimmick.
Yup. One player can actually play both parts of the game by themselves, except if that one player is too dumb to use the pointer and play at the same time, they can have their friend point while player one focuses on moving Mario and breathing at the same time. Yeah, you've perfected two-player all right, Miyamoto.
Next up: Gears of War 2 to feature exciting new 2-player mode! Player 2 can now throw the character's grenades if player one doesn't want to, freeing player one to s...
Halo 2 wasn't ever actually delayed though. Bungie once said they "hoped" for the holiday season / early next year, for the year earlier than they eventually launched, but that was nothing more than a vague hope.
Retailers like Gamestop, however, were publishing "dates" as early as March 2003 claiming when Halo was supposed to be shipping, and they kept adjusting their dates continuously as it became clear the game was not, in fact, shipping anywhere near th...
Ja. Thankfully, some of this info really IS direct from Sony and MS and Nintendo.
The really telling bits actually from the companies:
-[The game division of] Sony posted a loss of 96.7 billion yen ($841 million), more than double their losses from the same quarter last year
-[Microsoft's similar division] posted an operating profit of $165 million for the quarter, as opposed to the $1.2 billion loss last quarter and the $992 million lost a year ago.
-Ninte...
"With only a 1.3 attached rate, and majority of software sales going to 1st party, it really doesn’t bode well for Wii’s future."
^That includes the pack-in Wii Sports, doesn't it? Software sales on the Wii are ridiculously bad- Wii could be selling many times more units than 360 and it still wouldn't be selling as many games. That's great for Nintendo's profits, terrible for 3rd-party software developers, and a conundrum for first-party devs. People are clearly buyin...
-They're probably counting pack-in Wii Sports with the rest. That's crap. The number should at least be revised for actual copies sold, and not including pack-in. Does Microsoft get to include all the free copies of Hexic from the original Pro bundle in Hexic's sales?
-And Wii Play is the only source of an extra controller for a lot of people. That's also a very cheap stat.
"Gaijin" developing an exclusive on the American console.
Way to go there.
Good job.
Racism.
..yup.
Even though he says something to the effect of, "nobody remembers exactly where it was" and "it was somewhere over there". Good job.
Even though:
1) This is thirty freakin' years after the game, as you're so keen to point out. A lot could have happened since, including the fact that MC was ~43 at the time of the game, meaning he'd be over 70 even if he was still alive by that point.
2) The casket was empty, and the guy specifically noted it was just symbolic. Heck, Chief could still be alive and was the only Spartan to ever live to retirement, so they held a "funeral" so that he could be honored as ...
I didn't even remember this feature was once supposed to exist until this article brought it up. Bungie Community outraged? Yeah, sure.
1- Halo pwns.
2- Nobody here has any clue whatsoever Bungie is talking about in this article. And nobody here wants to bother trying to figure it out, either. Why bother?
3- Purple banana ding-ding-ding. And that's more facts than you'll read in all the previous comments put together.
Who here has actually seen screens from the game, and would have known if they hadn't been told? Resolution doesn't matter nearly as much as smart use of resources. A game at 420p could look infinitely better than a game that squandered all of the systems' power on 1080p and isn't doing anything else.
Also nevermind all the perfect 10s in the reviews, the millions of people online playing this game right now who are all having a blast- the game runs in 640p so that's all that m...
Who here was expecting all this idiotic backlash from before Halo 3 was even announced? Show of hands? *raised*
Halo 3 wins on all levels.
-The fight was finished, mission accomplished. Whine about the story all you want, it did its job as advertised.
-If you didn't want to play multi, why the hell did you spend $60 on this game instead of waiting for a used copy / price drop? You are an idiot. Conversely, there are people who paid $60 and probably aren't going to...
Jack Thompson posted gay porn in a public record.
Seriously- Google it.
This site is total, utter crap at this point. I'm cancelling my account... er... if that's possible. Otherwise I'll just get this one banned. And on that note:

And just to round it out.
MICROSOSFT IS AWESOME OMG WOOT WOOT HOLLA!
Please mark this as offensive, take bubbles away, etc. Please?
Who here actually read the article?
"Bear in mind this comment has nothing to do with any of the site’s game coverage, just Paddon’s problems as a gamer."
What it's actually about:
"I arrived in the States on June 26th 2007. Within a few days, I called Microsoft to see if they’d be able to transfer my account from the UK to the US. The problem is that as my account was registered in the UK, it will only allow me to enter a UK-based billing address. ...
