Chances are BL3 could have done really well even if Gearbox made their own launcher (that isn't advice by the way, Randy) Metro exodus reports a sales increase and so does Gearbox on Borderlands, the main factor for these great figures is down to the rising popularity of gaming as a whole more than any specific platform.
so yeah, absolutely correct Jester.
@rainslacker
Don't want to play into the farcical views too much here, but i'd imagine they'd only have good things to say about 'sales' considering what Epic will be paying them for the privilege of that exclusivity; if the cut difference was so important to the majority of developers you'd sooner see a mass exodus rather than a carefully curated library of timed exclusives from EGS.
The investors likely don't care about overall sales a...
Undoubtedly there's gonna be dlc for new ones anyway, play the base game- wait for the inevitable dlc that Gearbox are gonna do.
If anything first person is even better for driving, that's where the immersion is.
@Crazyglues
Except you're talking about 2K and R* not CDPR there, we'd all love a good single player expansion for GTA or Red Dead, but this is post GTA Online success, ain't happening (Edit- see NBA controversy for why 2K is worrying).
CDPR on the other hand? they released a few very successful expansions for TW3, encouraging such a possibility.
I feel like he was alluding to the Epic exclusivity :P
I think a good barometer for many new expansive rpg's should be attention to details, just small things like npc's noticing something a little different about your character, giving you a nickname based on a feature like that. Or where your gaze goes when you first meet one for example- it's all about immersion and being a part of this simulated, breathing world.
@-Foxtrot
I think the option for a 'vanity' view sort of thing would be nice, but if you compare it to Skyrim's 3rd person view; you've also gotta keep in mind the polish of the combat elements wasn't really high on Bethesda's list of priorities (let's be honest, the combat in Skyrim is shoddy at best)- and what would be necessary is more akin to the reverse of what R* did with GTAV when they added first person, i'll use Destiny and The Division as ex...
As shown in the recent gameplay you'll also be able to see your character in menus and on vehicles, like motorbikes, end of the day? it's an rpg and seeing 'yourself' doesn't happen unless you look at reflections of yourself.
Based on what i know about Spiders? it'll be much better than Vampyr.
(though i didn't really like Vampyr all that much at all to be honest)
All the same- i've enjoyed the old school Bioware feel of every one of Spiders games to a larger extent with each release, i'm looking forward to it.
They're doing the same thing with the Switch lite too, it honestly annoys me to no end that companies take advantage of the exchange rates in such a way, leaving the customer to pay the difference.
A small profit of (according to your $100 margin) around 3.2 billion dollars.
32 million units sold as of december 2018.
No big profits though, none to be found here when Sony and Microsoft are often selling their consoles at marginal profits and sometimes for a loss to encourage adaption.
Well, this is just a theory, but Ninja's do love sharp objects.
While the idea you're putting forth is correct on paper cigi, the idea that dlc and micro transactions wouldn't exist if not for the large cut ain't right, a quick look at Valve games on steam, EA games on Origin, Ubi games on Uplay and you'll see they all end up having microtransactions, dlc, and season passes.
We need competition, but Epic don't even have sales while charging *the same* shitty prices Steam does despite the cut in percentages.
This game honestly felt so much like a Stalker game for many parts of it, i think the more open/sandbox levels really added to that feeling, and in my opinion a Stalker comparison/influence is a great thing.
really enjoyed the little things you notice in a game like this, the atmosphere, the sounds, how the world interacts with itself and the player.
It's literally every game where people reference or there are references to Winnie the Pooh, Devotion got pulled from Steam because of chinese players and the Taiwan/China beef.
@UnSelf
I like how you stopped after 2 basic activities that almost every other game does better, racing which results in a pileup 9/10 times and manhunt which is quite frankly a waste of time. just because you *can* do everything doesn't mean you should.
Rock* multiplayer offerings are tripe in other words, great SP, boring timesink when it comes to MP.
Considering the Division already had a BR mode dlc i'd imagine it's possible Div.2 will get one, that said i loved the co-operative version of it.
worked really well in the cold environment with survival aspects to deal with too.
@-Foxtrot
Ironically modders have created Skyrim together (with a lot of hard work granted) but if you're a professional at the level Bethesda would expect from you- co-op is a feature once added could quite handily make up for a lot of bugs alone; some people are somehow happy with 76 just because you can play with friends, and it's narratively the worst game Bethesda have made.
@rainslacker
I just don't currently see the correlation with the cut providing such a boost when so many games aren't going for that Epic exclusivity just yet- it seems especially odd in the manner all these exclusives work out, Epic don't require any game to go exclusive to gain the extra cut, they just have to use the platform and the Unreal engine.
So, it's clear to me at least that the cut is far less of a factor than the benefits of being finan...
