The game doesn't really pick up until the last Homicide Case, which takes roughly 10 hours to get to. People just don't have the patience I guess.

I have been playing the series since the beginning with the original on the NES. So I don't have the bias' a typical fan of the series has (where they like a certain one because it was their first JRPG/First Final Fantasy they ever played. (Usually VII because that's when the series became mainstream.) And a lot of the fans didn't play the games when they first came out like IV & VI They played them 5-10 years later and the games obviously can't have the same kind of ...

Nope. When CoD comes out they will buy it for their current system not spend $350-$400 for the same game. 2008 Hardware won't cut it in 2012 (for a new system), especially when you start to hear whispers of what is around the corner for PS4 & Xbox. Gamers will just save their money & wait to see what SONY & MS offer. (hint: It won't be 2008 hardware.)
So many games have been gimped. People don't even realize :(
