It seems like the main appeal of this game is the moment of catharsis players feel when they achieve something overtly difficult.
Yeah, totally agree. Had they produced something using a tried and tested formula, the guys on n4G would be moaning about that instead... It's like you can't win in this industry.
Visually, I think this game looks so nice. For some reason, I'm imagining a similar popularity to Minecraft, where some people enjoyed it and others didn't quite understand why. With the lack of functional story, or any real basis to progress through the game, I think people will have to find their own purpose, whether that's through mining, or naming animals, or exploring etc. I don't know, I think it looks cool.
This is pretty much my perspective on it. Whilst I find it abhorrent that these guys have expense allowances, surely there are worst things than video games to spend the tax payers money on...
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be the last Uncharted? I highly doubt it. I know they've said this time and time again, but developers can never resist a cash cow. Give it a couple of poorly received games, and they'll soon be back again, resting on the laurels of a tried and tested formula. I won't be surprised if it's a marketing gimmick to say it's the last Uncharted.
'Good to hear that there are people playing games in a mature way that doesn't mean that they just swear and say stupid things a lot.'

'We’ll probably have to escape from the Nordic equivalent of Hell, since Kratos managed to escape from Hades more times than he had quick-time sex.'
That was such a weird minigame. It was a minigame, wasn't it? A friend showed it me one time and it weirded me out.
Also, this sounds like a good move. Everyone likes Norse mythology, don't they?
wifi boobster...
I'm done.
Hackers, bugs, exploits, grinding in the darkzone with very little reward, limited enemy diversity, the list seems to go on. To be honest, it sounds like I made the right decision not to get involved with this one…
I think there's been too much money invested in to VR for it to still be considered a technological gimmick. But I agree for the most part. If the PlayStation VR is successful, it will change the future of gaming forever.
Got to agree with Deadpooled on this, not quite sure a game like The Division should be considered phenomenal. It's certainly not the impression I get from people who actually enjoy playing the game.
This 'incredibly uninspiring device' actually looks pretty cool.
It's very feng shui...
Pretty sure I had a wood elf assassin, actually. He was so dexterous, I could jump from roof top to roof top in the end - essentially a ninja.
Your experience sounds like me from a parallel universe! Haha! Definitely much better than Skyrim, I agree about that.
In all honesty, The London Heist looks pretty cringe. I'm also still a bit unsure how bad VR is for your vision long-term. Then there's the price tag. I don't know, I'm all for technological progress, but I'm wondering if VR is still as gimmicky as it looks.
To be fair, the article says ages, not years. There’s also very little speculation, beside the bits about user-generated content being similar to other successful franchises and the game looking like Unreal. Personally speaking, the hype train has ruined a lot of games for me when they fail to live up to expectation, so I totally agree about not getting ahead of ourselves.
I’m exactly the same, usually multiplayer games are of no interest to me. But DOOM has sparked my curiosity, especially as someone who used to enjoy multiplayer first person shooters like Quake/Unreal. Totally understand your concerns about it being heavily dependant on the community, too. Which is just another reason they should include bots, in case the numbers need to be made up. I’m hoping the community will be good, considering the creative freedoms they’re handing over with the SnapMap ...
Durden lives!
I use to play PSP a whole lot, but never brought a VITA. It seemed to lack something in a handheld, but I could never put my finger on what it was...
Classic example of a studio having their time in the sun, before slipping in to closure, nothing new here, really. Just look at the history of Black Isle Studios...
More and more I'm trying to avoid teaser trailers for video games. I try and wait for extended gameplay before I make a judgement, otherwise I fear I'm going to be caught off guard by marketing tactics. I'm so cynical, lol.
