There are BC games, as was noted, and a dedicated launch lineup. "console Far Cry 1" versions...from the ones I've played, they're not really anything like Far Cry 1 on the PC. The PC Far Cry is an original IMO (and from what I've heard elsewhere), the others were watered down or even totally altered, because of technical restrictions (or misguided creativity). I'm of the belief $40 isn't any "insane" price unless you're talking about a collector's edition sealed. $40 is a standard price drop. $20 at this stage for a great game like that is more of a insane value. I visit CAG so I never get things at MSRP unless I have good reason or it will be out of print (or it's a day 1 buy caliber game)...
