at the retail comment, I was there too for 5 years, I know what you mean: patience.

Yes, I get frustrated reading the review/preview for a new "RPG" when it comes out, all I want to know after looking at the screenshots is "is it real time". They often classify a game like Oblivion and Zelda as an RPG, and sometimes call it an action RPG, sometimes a real time RPG, sometimes just an adventure. On IGN they've classified Zelda as an action game before. It is hit...

it goes up some, like Star Wars: Force Unleashed and Riddick: Dark Athena, which respectively got like a 72 (or so) and a 82 (or so)...but I get your point. A movie property/IP and a directly correlated release to a specific one are a bit different.

times you can't stop bringing up the love of your life, 360?

This was a neutral conversation and you had to mangle it with your delusions...Sheesh.

whatever, you obviously don't like the movie, why would you want the game?

of SW Battlefront a bit, due to the TPS and style and futuristic/factions aspects...Looks fairly descent, we'll see how it fairs if a demo comes out or if I can see what the reviews complain about if at all (I don't pay attention to the number in a review as much as what they reason for that number).

two disagrees and no valid counterpoints or mature thoughts?

C'mon, at least be big enough to state what you don't see eye to eye with, I made clear and concise points, and if you can't explain what you don't like, then I may as well chalk it up to you being pissy that I've made valid points, because you have nothing left to say.

I tried to respectfully answer your concern about the concept of "quality" and I was polite and mature. You come in, arm's swingi...

Vhero, please don't lump me in with anybody else from my country, we're not all mindless idiots. Many of us, like myself, will go extra lengths to let you know, yeah, we're out there and not like "them" just by commenting back to a claim like that... Blanket statements are one thing that Americans are belittled for making, so I'd like to be left out of them, as I refuse to make them about other countries or ethnicities.

I will take Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls over MW...

so I wouldn't say there is any disdain. Are they the highest quality games of the last 10 years? My opinion is not really. There's a difference between saying a game sucks and it's over rated, a big difference. I can like a game, and see that it's good, but still say it gets too much credit for what it is, and yes, that's my opinion not a fact. I played through the second Halo with co-op with my gf, and I had great fun. I don't hate the game, you're reading too much into it. And btw, I believ...

in a minority here right now, I've tried turn based combat and dislike the way it makes me feel disillusioned with the action. Same with RTS games, I can't do a turn based strategy game as it doesn't captivate me the same way. I totally have patience, as I will set up massive scale battles on RTS games in skirmishes and spend 10 hours finishing the battle, taking it slow, calculating my moves.

However, I want to be pulled in by seeing everything always moving, always progressing,...

because sales don't equal quality, and ratings don't equal quality. Ever heard of "a sleeper hit"?

You only have to look at shovelware, how does some of that break a million sales? How do bad movies with a good license sell out at the box office? It's not always that the best gets the best sales. There's always that issue, Mad World selling like crap on Wii, but being an amazing game? Then you have Wii Music selling much more...Why? Sales do not equal quality, quandary ...

if you think your babble is anything but opinion, Scissor. It has no games? That mantra is text-book fanboy, and most of those stopped that one like 2 years ago, but not you. I stopped reading right there. Have your preference, but don't tout it as the correct way to think and get on your high horse about it.

that depends on how you choose to game, you game online? You add $45 a year, you want a bigger hard drive? More money added in. You NEED wireless like me as well as a lot of other gamers based on the location you HAVE to game at, you need another $90 for wifi...it adds up, trust me. That is the "way, shape and form" that PS3 CAN be cheaper.

Note I said "can" because that isn't the story for each person, but it sure as hell is the story for many of us. Don't be...

and a $600 launch PS3 is flawed in a few ways, with all due respect.

If you look back at the 2 companies, and look at Sony, and what they included with PS3, when they released it (inflation and competition), what their brand name meant (name recognition, coming off selling over 80 million the previous gen? I don't think 3DO did that), the fact that it had a new medium in it to bank on (Blu Ray), the fact that they could count on a portable device for revenue while the console got...

The 1 is the new PoG/Why Dis/I did not murder him/CoolGBIris/fanboy extraordinaire ...everytime I see one of those accounts drop to a bubble or two, a new rabid fanboy with the same delusions, prose and writing style surfaces, and spits the same stuff out.

I don't really play the sales game (that seems like a 360 exclusive, HA!), but I think if a console has the smallest install base, it growing like mad will increase support and competition. That means EVERYONE wins, so everyone...

out of touch with the proof that was laid out over time showing that they're biased. I've seen it, many here saw it, and at this moment, I don't have the time nor patience to provide you with glaring evidence of their slant. It's been all over, if you were ignoring it or too busy, then that's your own fault. If you weren't so biased yourself you'd see it too.

Since when do they include the same review sites for EVERY review, nothing more, nothing less? They don't, hence, they're...

a valid measurement of quality, it's run by fanboys, and when you have fanboys at the helm for such deeds, it's going to go sideways. You can clearly see this in the evidence that's been mounted at them in the past few years, they're freaking biased.

Lets say a principle, to get funding for a school, pulls 7 random students, and then 3 students who always fail...he averages their state assessment scores out, and tells the government "Just out of 10 students chosen across the...

see, it's not as you're apparently perceiving it. The fact is, competition breeds better products on both sides, and when one grows, it's more likely to see new releases, games not previously slated for said console, and a general growth in support. It's no different than a Mac owner happy to see his platform grow a bit and get new support.

It's not a pissing contest for everyone, just the most hateful fanboys. The point is it manifests into better gaming.

then how is UC2 doing it seamlessly, phasing into gameplay without any visible loss of quality?

Are you seriously condemning the animation quality in UC2? Really?

Go away.

@ Piroh and his claims about console tech prowess next to a high end PC. Look, I've got an i7, a PS3, and an Elite 360. Crysis Warhead is gorgeous, Uncharted 2 is astounding, and Gears is solid, but you have to be kidding to think that consoles can pump out the resolution, AA, and FPS that an advanced PC can. I love all my gaming, but I know, visually, what the hierarchy tends to be.

This is the meh GTA 4 game, but on PC, with mods helping it look better:
