I can't believe jaggy shadows seem to be one of the biggest complaints. I honestly couldn't care- when your racing, the shadows are in your peripheral vision, you don't notice them.
Personally I think we just need more premium cars, ability to upgrade brakes, and a few things from older GT games that are missing like the ability to save speed records etc. on tracks and this game would be near perfection, for me anyway.
I like the kind of anime-esque/Bladerunner feel to Deus Ex. It does look like it'll be a great game.
Who chose these screens? Both games will probably look awesome, but come on, these aren't exactly the screens to show off the game with. Full 720p screens please!
GT5 says hi. Add this to the fact that I and probably many others have never even heard of this game.
HOLY SHYTE! awesome
I personally have no problems with damage in this game, as I acutally race as I would in real life and try to avoid all contact with other drivers instead of hurtling down the track the wrong way and going head on into the other racers. If you want to do something like that, play GTAIV.
However, I would not call the damage in GT5 realistic. Firstly the glass/headlamps of the car receive no damage at all, and cars are much more delicate than what they are in GT5. I've been...
Doesn't mean it doesn't look good though... Gaming is all about illusions.
Reuters sums it all up nicely:
'Sony and Microsoft sales figures are not exactly comparable, as Sony's number refers to sales to retail stores whereas Microsoft's refers to sales to consumers, known in the business as the "sell-through" number.
Ultimately, the difference may be minor, as both companies have reported strong demand from retailers and are restocking store shelves as fast as possible.'

Until they all RROD and Defense pen pushers were left freezing through winter...
Too much MGS4 for you...
Absolutely no source published with these numbers. Hard to believe until we see that.
Screw working on jaggy shadows, I don't even notice them when I'm concentrating on driving. How about implementing the ability to modify brakes? If that's done I'll be happy
But I really love the music in GT5...
18 hours? Damn that's a long ass gaming session! I thought I pulled long ones clocking at 4-5 hours!
You didn't like online mode?
I've had a blast online. I played it online all Sunday. However, I can see where currently without matchmaking, online would fall down. My advantage is I have a bunch of friends with the game, and we all got together that day and played- but we also had random people joining in the fun so it was pretty good.
Online suffers (connection speed permitting) no lag and runs very smoothly with no graphical downgrades, and since ...
I agree with Goeres. If you played GT5 you'd realise why damage is a phase in- it's a game with a steep learning curve.
Lazy gamer? That's not a very lazy man's test! Plus he's pulling good lap times- very close to the real thing.
Too true. It's been the same with many sports games. You read the review, play the game, and then wonder if they actually played it for more than a couple hours one afternoon.
I remember IGN's NBA2K10 review- after a solid week with the game it was evident to me they hadn't played it beyond 2-3 hours.
Same is happening with GT5.
1.) What are you most impressed about with the game?
Sheer amount of content and variety.
2.) What's your biggest disappointment?
Standard/Premium car divide.
3.) How many cars are in your garage? What's your favorite car?
19 so far. GT-R R35 V-Spec.
4.) Have you gifted any cars or created courses to your friends?
I've been gifted a Vitz for the Vitz Cup, and prom...
This game is creeping up on me but I'm liking what I see and hear about it.
I hope however as a multiplat its ported well. PS3 always draws the short straw in that regard.
