There isn't one. It's releasing on 360, PS3, and PC. They thought about it but said that it would make gamers wait too long for the game to be released. They might do it later down the road, but there are no plans currently.

The PS3 was the cheapest Blu-Ray player when it came out, even when games were slow coming out people bought it and non-gamers were likely for that reason. The WiiU is nothing like those systems because most systems are different and face different problems. The PS3 and 3DS didn't have a "slow" start, they had a slow start. I don't have totals, but in the week of March 23rd in the US MH3U sold ~82k for both systems. Part of the reason MH3U(or MH3G HD in Japan) had only 200k sales in its homeland was that it was simply an HD version of a game they already had (MH3G). As for the NA and EU totals, I don't know but I wouldn't be surprised if they did sell more than the Japanese version all things considered.
Does the next console have backwards compatibility for my favorite games? Sure I guess. If not I'll just keep it.

Because, surprise surprise, people bought more Vita's when games came out that people wanted such as Soul Sacrifice and Senran Kagura, along with a price cut. Similar things will happen when more games come out for the WiiU. If you want to compare portables, it was the same situation for the 3DS: More games and a price cut.
The sad truth was that Sega had multiple failed consoles and were up shit creek without a paddle financially. Had little to do with EA not giving their support.
