Every month we get the same speculation about price cuts.
I dont think Sony will be scared into a price cut so there is no way they will reduce prices until they have started making money on each console.
Side note: I dont see Microsoft reducing their prices either as there is no need to. They are making money on each console, achieving better sales than Sony and that probably wont change thanks to Halo.
This was discussed on the latest 1UP yours podcast.
Shane (big Sony fanboy) said that there would be a surprise announcement concerning Haze very soon (might have said E3 haha).
Someone then asked if it wasn't going to be multiplatform and Shane responded by saying that isn't correct.
These guys are usually pretty reliable so chances are it will be multi but maybe a timed exclusive.
would have bought the game if it was sold at a lower price point (£25 - £30) but i am not paying full price for it.
maybe the demo will change my mind
I understand what you are saying about the 'Halo' effect but i recently bought a 360 (last week) and have been playing Gears online alot. I havent felt that the Halo 3 beta has affected the amount of users playing gears.
I also agree that both consoles were effected by a lack of true next gen games but I still feel the 360 launch window (first 6 months) was alot better.
side note - I was disapointed by Sony announcing Socom as a mutliplayer only game. Games lik...
Sorry kornbeaner but your statement about the PS3 sale figures being close to the 360's is wrong.
based on NPD (all we have got) the 360 sold 1.504 million in the frist six months compared to 1.268 million PS3s sold. Thats 2 PS3 months sales difference.
I know that it is not a great amount but that gap is only going to get bigger due to lack of games coming out in the next couple of months.
There is alot of buzz about PS3 games at the moment (for g...
easist way to explain the excitement for this game is for you to check out the 'hunting the big daddy' video.
This game will, in my opinion, change First person shooters forever
Moonstone was one of my favourite games of all time.
I never did finish it, used to love playing that game with a couple of friends
sorry but you are wrong,
according to NPD data (not prefect but all we have got), which the report is based on, it shows that the 360 sold more than PS3 in the first 6 months.
i havent got the exact figures but its around 1.3 million PS3s and 1.5 360s sold in North America
you will still have voice chat, this is more for MSN messenger.
Personally can not wait for the release, any idea of price?
Just hope they actually make the game better, I refuse to buy another poor quality yearly release.
Finally a decent report from VGChartz,
At least the figures are reliable as they are based off NPD numbers rather than the usual guesstimates.
SDS totally agree.
Thank you Cuppa!
I was pulling my hair out reading the comments about damage.
Nintendo - still doing great especially the Wii that bounced back from lower than expected sales last month.
MS - Slightly disappointing sales dip, but overall still ok. Needs more games to be released soon. Crackdown sales dont seem to have been great either.
PS3 - Now sold less than the 360 after the first 6 months of launch (PS3 - 1,268,254 / 360 - 1,504,381) which is pretty poor. Games need to start being released. What is the next big game? lair in july? Als...
very early thursday morning, probably around 5 - 6 am
14:25 in England, still no beta.
Everyone should just relax lol it will be here before the end of day, a couple of hours are not going to make much difference.
slightly off topic, I think Majornelson.com is basically dead haha taking around 3 mins to load the site
agreed (Sodslawgy here, changed my name to my gamertag)
However i dont think it would be too difficult to make the graphics really good on 2 or 3 multiplayer maps.
its a shame that this game will be totally judged in comparison to a CGI trailier.
agreed!
I hope Skate delivers a real skate experience. They should remake Thrasher Skate and Destory.
Another quality story by PSU.com
To be honest, Ubisoft are being pretty intelligent.
They are taking everyone's money! Money from Microsoft for Splinter Cell which is a guaranteed big seller whilst also breaking a new IP with Sony's money (if this turns out to be true, Beowulf?). Then release GRAW etc multiplatform and make huge profits on cheap incremental improvements in existing franchises.
I wouldn't be surprised if EA don't start a similar business model.
