I wish they would let another studio remake jak and daxter like they did with ratchet and clank on os4
@neon
People hating on switch, period. Whether it has games or not. Maybe Switch has mass market appeal. but the core gaming market (like the guys and gals here on n4g, people who read gaming websites, follow the news, watch game trailers on YouTube etc ) wanted the next true home console from Nintendo. Not a portable hybrid. Of course it's not 100% and everyone. I mean you're a core gamer here on the n4g community and you like the switch. But you're definitely in the mi...
@mcstorm
This is what pretty much happens. People don't buy 3rd party games on Nintendo platforms. Cus there is always some kinda bs. Like it cost more comes out years late is missing modes etc.
And people can do both. Voice their dissatisfaction and not buy it.
For people saying pc should look the best. Have you considered the complexities for making a pc game vs a console game ?
Remember they have to program the game not for just amazing beastly gaming rigs but the lowest common denominator and EVERYTHING in between which is a lot. A lot of different CPUs graphics cards drivers ram types and amount of ram, operating system etc. And if that wasn't enough all the different combinations between them. Mix and match specs in pc. I...
Oh people. So easily confused. When he says the game is the same he means like every mode, difficulty setting etc.
He doesn't mean same game graphically.
Common sense isn't common anymore.
Like some of you don't think and just trip off going on about how switch has less ram etc. Get a grip!
If anything you might get assets on one x. Don't see pro getting it with limited assets.
What platform did you play mankind on?
Looks like this is only happening becuase if the one x.
PS4 pro might be a simple up res and checkerboard while one x patch maybe true enhancements.
I hope they prove me wrong tho!
Just when I was beginning to think I might be fine with just a pro and no need for a one x. I'm curious to see how this pans out.
I want to see If there isn't much difference between pro and one x version or if the one x is signi...
Exactly.
Probably they were speaking there true intentions at the time. But becuase it's easier and better to do an enhanced version on Xbox one x they decided to do it for Xbox. This was announced since e3 on Xbox side.
So they probably didn't wanna feel the wrath of angry ps fans so decided to do a update for pro to to ps fans don't feel left out. Don't be surprised if one x patch is much better than the pro.
I'm sure the same people would hace bought it to play breath of the wild.
Haha Sony ahead of the game.. not really. This basically sounds like Xbox gives better image quality.
It's using an actual hdr image for high dynamic range . And actual sdr image for standard dynamic range.
Sounds like on the pro you either have a sdr image that gets converted thru some kind of imagaige processing ( which degrades quality) to an hdr image. Or vice versa. Seems like ms can legitimately add "true hdr" to their marketing now
I think we know what MS's plan to compete is. It's the one x. Whether or not it will succeed is the question.
That's right. And it might not be a coincident. Maybe they didn't want to release a "Mario 2" west side if it seemed like more of the same and not different enough.
What you're saying is a well known fact around here. The reasons behind the facts don't change the facts themselves. And fact is, from one Mario game to the next the gameplay evolves in cool ways. Be it from Mario 1 to "Mario 2" or Mario 3 to super Mario world. From Mario 64 t...
Even if they never release a hybrid. I can imagine they've played around with the idea in a top secret PlayStation lab somewhere.
PS Vita Pro. With a dock.
I hope it's different enough to be worth it again. Around the third instalment they need to bring something fresh and exiting to the table.
Following nintendos example Mario 1,2, and 3 were familiar but different. Playing Mario 2 didn't feel like playing Mario 1 again but with new levels. And playing Mario 3 didn't feel like playing Mario 2 again.
Bayonetta 2 felt like playing bayonetta one again, but it was ok cus it was only the second time...
I felt the same way. I won't be visiting wewritethings.co anymore.
PS4 ran game at 1080 and Xbox at 900p. An entire new narrative sprung up around this. The whole resolutiongate.
I'm curious if developers start implementing a 1080/60fps mode on Xbox one x if a similar narrative will come up "fps-gate" and what would
Be the implications if that happened.
That's interesting. I think Xbox is popular, and PS4 is even more popular.
Can you explain what lead you to think Xbox is unpopular?
No not really. I think the point of my comment may have been missed. Even if there is a lowest common denominator on console, the base system. There are just 2 configurations. The original console and the mid gen upgrade. Whereas on PC you have the bottom of the line performer, the top of the line performer, and everything in between.
