Just go play your PC man, seriously. I've seen the PS3 and Xbox 360 for that matter crank out graphics, physics, lighting systems, etc that make a good portion of PC games look like shit when played on a PC of equal price to a console. You could spend three times as much on a PC than your console and probably still not be able to smoothly run God of War 3 (only using it cause guy above mentioned it, so its in my head.)
I know the PC guys will disa...
I agree, but we can all probably see that Official Xbox Magazine giving it a perfect score is clearly biased.
I'm not saying that doesn't happen with other consoles and theirs games, but this is a Halo Reach article. So I'm talking about Halo Reach.
@pogibaldy
I agree with you, but your first couple sentences have some erros. The Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle with the 250GB HDD is $399. The PS3 Move bundle with 320GB HDD is $399.
So if we look at the best bundles they are priced equally.
PS: I'm not gonna consider that $599 all in one Move bundle from QVC here because it wont make it to retail.
For those disagreeing, read the article please, he says its basically impossible for one version to be better than the other because they are being developed simultaneously, however as we can see there is screen tearing in the PS3 version.
And when I said favoring I dont mean the developer is intentionally making one version bad, I just mean the engine favors one consoles architecture better than the others. Therefore making it run better (no screen tearing) on one.
LOL, but seriously though, I wouldn't call Valve Great programmers, especially for the early half of this generation with their "problems" handling the Cell architechture. But they are good. And are getting better.
How does the fact that both versions are developed at the same time negate the possibility of favoring one console's architecture than the others, thereby programming the game better for one.
Thats like saying cars cant crash, they got brakes that work when you drive. Idk, the first stupid thing to come to mind haha.
The all mighty Marketing Dollar is part of what drove Microsoft to success. Sony needs to keep advertising like they did with the Kevin Butler stuff, sales exploded during those times. So they need to keep that up.
You make some good points, not sure why you had a disagree. But fortunately consumers are becoming more aware of other options out there. They are also becoming more price sensitive as well with the economic downturn lately. This bundled with the family image of Nintendo is what I think rocketed it through its life cycle so quickly, so now its on the downturn.
I think Sony and Microsoft are offering value, which is why their respective life cycles will last a bit longer. ...
Sort of funny Peter seems to think Sony has to initiate everything. Mentioning that Sony is not at the level of pricing that Microsoft and Wii are at as well. And that a new generation wont start until they are all at the magical price of $199. I find that sort of misleading when you look at the facts.
Yes you can get an Arcade for like $179 or whatever it is now, but thats because it has no harddrive. When you compare HDD space between Sony and MS you always get the better...
@Whitto
First off, Home has been used by more than 10 million people, probably more but I dont want to search for a link for proof, but that number I'm pretty sure I heard at a conference.
So if that amount of people is not sufficient to keep something going, we better shut down all production on KZ3, shut the servers down for Modern Warfare on PS3, cause its not worth it. What, only 10 percent of PS3 owners playing those games at least once?
<...
Oh yea I dont think everyone has Gold. I bet theres people that will buy the game that don't even connect their Xbox to the internet. But for those that don't have gold, and are connected, dont miss out on this one.
Home is not a failure. Would you consider a product a failure if sales were up year over year with awesome margins (seeing as how digital clothing doesn't cost much to make), and users were up year over year? I dont think so.
I do agree the trophy room would have been cool. And there are game specific awards tied to video games that you earn with trophies, seeing as how you don't know that. But I would like to see more.
But just because me and you...
haha, that seems kind of pointless, seeing as how most buying Reach, if not ALL, will have already bought Gold membership.
@peyote
Does Motion Plus come with a camera to track the controller? no, so it wont ever be as accurate as move when it comes to 1:1 tracking, because it CAN"T SEE YOU. It just guesses your position based on internal sensors.
Wow, some impressive numbers for the GTA and Gran Turismo series.
@Theonik
Thanks for the explanation, didn't think of it like that, because Bulletstorm def isn't as hyped as Gears was.
the original gears sold well to, and it was a new IP at the time.
Ha, dont worry, he wont come back, he got only one bubble.
Okay, this article had nothing to do with PS3, but you brought it there, and as you can see, most people here are in favor of the install, even though its optional. As I'm sure some would be in favor of optional installs on PS3 as well, if you got the space, and it improves the gameplay experience, sounds good to me.
Send me a PM if you want to continue this, and have me get into more detail about some technical things behind the install debate.
You got a good point, didn't know they didn't give ODST a perfect score, but after thinking about it I do retract my comment above, just cant delete it now haha.
