Holy crap! I dont even want to buy games anymore PS plus is so good. I don't own any of these and have almost bought all of them at one point or another, except the ps4 games as I dont have one yet. This is insane though. Sony is really making all other game hardware companies look ridiculous right now. They just seem to care about their customer base way more than the other guys. They have certainly made up for the first couple rough years of ps3 and the hack. I knew that upgrade to a 1t...
I agree with this article in every sense and I am a fan of the Wii U. The VC is in a sad state right now because of all the reasons listed in this artilce. Nintendo definitely mis-read this market. They thought we wanted classic games released as if they were big releases. They thought tricling them out would make them sell better, but they were dead wrong there. I would much rather have them drop 5-10 a week or a bunch all at once at cheaper prices. NES games should be $2 max and SNES $4-$5 ...
Thats ok because sites like this are read by very few of the poeple who are interested in Nintendo products.
This site and all other sites really are not "the" word in gaming. In the grand scheme of things, a very small precentage of the gaming community takes part in all this internet bickering.
Just ask yourself how many of your gaming friends and family take part in these discussions here on these sites. I have dozens of gaming friends and family...
I have moved my games and saves, settings, etc to 3 separate 3DS systems now. I think there is a limit, but everything is transferrable.
This almost looks like a Metroid spin-off. Looks pretty interesting, if still a bit early.
Hmmm... looks like a lot of fixes, which is good. But still, 13 gigs is crazy for a patch. Think Ill wait for the next version with all the patches and DLC on the disc. By the time I want an Xbone that will hopefully have happened. Im a sucker for the Dead Rising games, but I cant justify a $500 system for one game that interests me.
This is the kind of stuff that makes me glad I am waiting to splurge on the Xbone or PS4. If these installs and patches are eating up hard drive space like that THIS early in the generation, how bad is it gonna be in a year or two? 500 GB isnt nearly enough from what I have seen so far. The average user is likely to use up that 500 in less than a year. We need 2 TB's in these systems!
Once they start putting out 2 Terabyte + models with free games and all that jazz, I wi...
Nice post monkey! Nintendo will bring the Wii u back by showing us the games and actually releasing them. I wish they would stop delaying their games so much. Just get them out and then patch them if you have to. They also need to be more transparent. Show us what you are working on Nintendo! Quit being bashful, we want reasons to be excited about our system.
I actually agree with him. There are more games that I am currently interested in on the Xbone, but I won't even consider it @ $500 after having gone through 5 360s over the last 8 years or so. I'm waiting for $350 or less and a kinect-less option. I dobt care about or want that tech in my house.
Right, because pokemon , Mario, and Mario kart aren't the best selling game series of all time.
What youre missing is the fact that they really made a mess by shooting way too high for their yearly results. So while the 3ds looks like it did incredible this year, which it did, they STILL missed their target by about 5 Million! Thats huge, and the Wii U missed by more than 6 Million!
The 3DS is a huge success as far as sales pace coming from where they were, but if your prejections arent close to what was forecasted it still looks like a failure. The company will be fine...
@ Monkeyman 1.1.2
I agree that 3rd parties are to blame for what they released and the quality of what they released, but Nintendo should have known better than to let 3rd parties run the show. If they werent ready then they shouldnt have released the system. They spent this whole time playing coy and acting like they would somehow make it to the sales forecast, knowing full well their system sellers were pretty far off.
3rd parties are not going to take the ...
IF, and this is a big IF, Nintendo DOES decide to go third party, I would still support them. But thats not what I see happening. I would rather Nintendo team up with Sony like they were supposed to back in the SNES/pre PS1 days. Sony's already great IP, hardware, and services with Nintendo games to boot!? Imagine how much bvetter PS Now would be with a ton of NES/SNES/N64/Gamecube titiles?
If Nintendo decides to stay in the game, they need to at least adopt some of Sony&...
Well said, but thats not what 3rd parties do man! Look at the 360 and ps3 games that were available at their launches! Undercooked, last gen ports all around and they were horrible for the most part. You cant expect grundbreaking titles from 3rd parties at the launch of a system. Thats not how this industry works.
So this is where it becomes Nintendos fault. THEY were responsible for showing why the Wii U is the system to own, and they didnt even come close! I own the Wii U ...
Seriously, show us the fuggin games already! We should already be well aware of the next Zelda's art style and title. Mario Kart and Smash Bros NEEDED to be holiday 2013 titles. That new IP aint doing them any good hiding. The price is still too high and we need an ambassador program! The thing should have launched at $249 and needs to be $199 or less now. And the VC needs a much bigger push than the 1-2 per week theyve been doing. So much potential but so much disconnect. How about some ...
Well, Sony has been doing it for years!
I knew there would be trouble when they announced Mario Kart and Smash Bros were 2014 games instead of 2013. They REALLY needed all their firepower in the lead up to the ps4 and Xbone launches. MK8, Smash, Mario 3D World, and DK in a 4 month span from August to November would have put them in a much better position to compete. They still wouldnt have met their forecasts, but they wouldnt be as bad off as they are now.
They havent leveraged the VC or eShop nearly enough... Th...
If the 3ds lineup were made available in HD on the Wii U there wouldnt be a 3rd party issue because those games would help the system sell. 3rd parties wont support the wii U because there isnt enough of an install base of gamers that those companies can sell to. More sold Wii U's = more 3rd party support.
Ubisoft gives the Wii U good support and their titles sell pretty well on the system. Last I checked, Rayman Legends sold significantly more on the U than the other pla...
Holy crap the 3ds is ridiculously dominant in these charts every week. If only Nintendo would support the Wii U as well as they do the 3ds... If they would just make HD versions of the popular 3ds titles then implement cross buy ala Sony, the Wii U would sell like crazy too.
Any price point where the Kinect is included is too high. Even if it sells at $400, it could be $100 cheaper without the Kinect. I will not buy One until there is a version without Kinect and I also feel there will be a redesigned slim model sooner rather than later. I can hold out. There isnt anything that make me feel I need to drop that much. It just seems like theyre offering a lot more of the same crap just prettier. Maybe Quantum Break and Sunset Overdrive do something that cannot be do...
