It was just the opposite for me. I was not really impressed with PS4 until Infamous Second Son came out. With PS5 they launched with a bang right out the gate with Spider Man Miles Morales and Astros Playroom, then Ratchet and Clank and Horizon Forbidden West within the 1st year and a half or so. There are others obviously, but PS5 has had a really strong lineup 2 years in!
I was more impressed last gen with Xbox Ones initial launch lineup with Forza 5, Dead Rising 3, Kille...
Really? Since New Vegas eh?!So I guess I was dreaming all those rave reviews for Deathloop (which received MANY 10/10s), Ghostwire Tokyo, Doom Eternal, Fallout 4, Prey, Dishonored1 and 2, Evil Within, Wolfenstein The New Order and Skyrim's many iterations?! You are so delusional. Bethesda is one of the most respected companies in the entire history of gaming! I will no longer respond to completely idiotic troll posts from the likes of people like you.
Thats quite a stretch. I mean, theyre entitled to their opinion, but the PS5 has had a damn good couple of years honestly, at least software wise. There have been some incredible games. Even with the missteps and price gouging BS that I have been known to call them out for, it doesnt mean the system isnt great. Even if I dont agree with all their business decisions this generation, you cant argue that there arent some must-play gems on it. Even if some of them are available on PS4. Ratchet an...
I didnt say I expected it for $10, I said an upgrade path OR a PS Plus Extra release. I paid $20 for the Spider Man PS5 remake, no problem. I even paid the $30 to upgrade to the PS5 version of Ghost of Tsushima. There is no upgrade path whatsoever here. And no, its not like expecting Dead Space $10 upgrade to the remake of the ps3 version. The Last of Us was a PS4 game remastered from a PS3 game. There is literally no reason they cant offer a path for those who bought the PS4 version. Some of...
The CCP is known to heavily sensor anything they dont agree with. We dont want that kind of censorship to become prevalent in the games industry!
Of course they put Deathloop on there less than a month after I finally bought it, and naturally still have it sealed. At least now Ill be able to play it without swapping discs out. Kinda surprised to see them put that on there considering its a Microsoft owned property. I think you have to respect Microsoft a little bit here for allowing Bethesda to operate independently and do these sorts of things. They kept the agreements in place and havent even announced the PS5 exclusive Bethesda game...
Spider Man Remake was a $20 upgrade. That was a full on remake and not cross gen. No matter how you slice it, theres no reason to not have an upgrade path when that has become standard practice this generation.
That wasnt a common business practice that generation. This generation it is. Apples to oranges. PS4 to PS5 Upgrades has been a thing since day 1 of PS5.

They even have a list on the PS Store

The level of accessibility in God of War is a big difference maker vs Elden Ring. That kind of try-die-try gameplay in Elden Ring tends to wear many gamers down to the point they just give up. God of War is much more accessible and is ultimately more playable due to its fun core mechanics and the fact that the challenges do not feel so insurmountable. There isnt that same level of dread that you will never be able to defeat such and such boss. I feel God of War just has infinitely more fun fa...
"This issue’s cover art has been in the works for some time, and its level of detail is a testament to that."
Holy crap, stuff like this is why I have thousands of old magazines stuffed away in storage! I dont get the physical sub anymore so Ill be popping into Gamestop to grab one of these. Easily the best cover art Ive seen in years.
God of War Ragnarok, a game that has not even released yet, has the upgrade path. Theres no reason to not offer such here. Its greedy and Sony is getting a reputation for such under the guidance of Jim Ryan. This is not a reputation they want to carry forward in this financial climate.
I am a stockholder with have a vested interest in Sony doing well and am also a longtime Playstation fan. They need to bring more people in, not push them away with a barrier such as cost. As...
Its the method used commonly this generation, to provide a bridge to upgrade to the new version of a game already bought last generation. This is what Sony themselves have been doing this whole generation. And its not been an option to upgrade for people with the free ps plus version either. Look at Uncharted Collection. You had to have purchased one of the games, there was no upgrade path to the PS5 version for people who only had the free version.
Even games that arent o...
When did I say or imply someone was holding a gun to my head to force a buy? But the fact is that there isnt even any upgrade path whatsoever. They're not even allowing fans who purchased it full price before pay an upgrade fee to get the new version, like they have with almost every other game theyve done a re release for. To say that this is so much different from other remakes/rereleases that it cant have an upgrade path like every other game is just pure marketing speak. Hell, Unchart...
Even the reviewer calls the game an inessential remake: "there is something inherently inessential about it that it can’t quite shake, as a remake of an already fabulous remaster that remains a must-play on hardware only a single generation old"
Definitely a bias but whatever. Cowabunga collection does look pretty dope though, some of those games are hard to find gems.
Even a $10 upgrade would suffice, but nope, they want a full $70 from everyone, for a game theyre releasing for a 3rd time within a decade. Im not supporting this practice with another full price purchase. All I said was that Ill wait for it to be on ps plus Extra or for them to implement an upgrade path. I still want to check it out. Just not at $70
Did you read the part in the review where the reviewer himself said it was an ultimately an inessential remake:
"there is something inherently inessential about it that it can’t quite shake, as a remake of an already fabulous remaster that remains a must-play on hardware only a single generation old'
Even the reviewer of the game feels that way. No reason for this not be an upgrade, but theyre charging full price with no upgrade path whatsoever. ...
Can they just do the Zelda collection already?! Yes we know Mario is popular. But damnit I want a Zelda collection of all the handheld games, including the 3ds remakes of Ocarina and Majora along with the great and underappreciated Link Between Worlds.
Well I wouldn't buy something they said was limited but didn't included any limited edition stuff. There was no special box or special edition items included so the writing was on the wall. Its like they were trying the old Disney tactic and telling everyone this would go back in the vault soon. Im more upset that it didn't include the excellent Mario Galaxy 2.
Good review, but cant shake the feeling that it should be a free upgrade for previous version owners or on PS Plus Extra at the very least. Ill wait to play until one or the other comes to fruition.
Good for those who are playing for the 1st time, but I cant imagine there are many ps5 owners out there who didnt at least play the ps4 remaster already or both the ps3 original and the ps4 remaster. Looks to be worth a revisit, but I just cant wait to see what ND can do with t...
Yep, Jim Ryan and some of those decisions are just mind boggling. The PS5 is in a good place despite him. But some of these narratives around Sony's greed this gen are directly related to his decisions. Sony is traditionally the ones that are first to put out things like a Greatest Hits lineup. They are known to be the ones that lead the charge in pricing strategies that lead to the mass market adoption that Playstation is known for.
It feels the opposite this gen, lik...
