Ignorant statement here. The gaming industry was always poised to go this way. Games are expensive and if you've gamed long enough you know how bad it sucks to be ripped off by a 50 or $60 a game that just sucks or isn't what you expected it to be. You can't trust gaming reviews anymore because those guys are mostly paid off. And now more than ever it's clear that reviews are just opinions.

The subscription model started way back with the Sega channel. That ...

Sony is known for this kind of crap. There's this narrative that Sony is the good guy, out to save gaming blah blah, yada yada, but nah they are known to do some shady stuff to get to where they've gotten. If you've followed the business side of the games industry you would see this crap. Its not their games that got them to be market leaders, its their business practices and anti-competitive contractual agreements and things that go unseen in the biz side.

Rem...

Starfield is a completely different scenario. It's a new franchise that has never been announced for any other console. Microsoft is in the game to make money, they understand they'll make a whole lot more if they keep certain games on the competing platform.

The difference is going to come down to Gamepass exclusivity. If the new Call of Duty game is $70 on PlayStation but included as part of the Gamepass subscription, that's going to move a whole lot of Xbox ...

It is pretty bad considering what they're arguing as a reason to stop the Activision purchase. Sony is making it seem like there is no competing game to CoD when that couldn't be further from the truth. MS has kept the franchises they've purchased on the competing platforms. Do they still sell Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, Minecraft, etc on other platforms? Sony is purposely trying to hinder Gamepass growth by going after the little guys, the 3rd party devs and publishers. That...

Wow, that is pretty dastardly that Sony would do that. It's a pretty big deal if true. They can't argue that Microsoft is limiting competition while actively pursuing anti-competitive measures like what is alleged. It just shows that Sony basically got caught with their pants down when it comes to Gamepass. The fact that they've since head to scramble to put together a similar service is proof they misjudged the level of competition that Xbox would pose this generation. I love my ...

Obviously PlayStation has been around and will be for years even if they lose Call of Duty, I agree with that. However, you're missing the point that millions of newer PlayStation gamers came aboard because Call of Duty. There are millions of PS gamers that don't know or care about the history of the brand. They just know that PlayStation was advertised and marketed as the CoD machine and that's where they went to play, because of the marketing. PlayStation is not unbeatable. Xbox...

It doesn't matter how you personally feel about it. Its a ubiquitous franchise and losing it would be devastating to the PlayStation brand. Just ask Sony.

They absolutely should be. If MS were to decide to remove CoD from PlayStation it would trigger a seismic shift for the Gaming industry.

No matter how you personally feel about the game and it's quality, it is a franchise that millions of people buy gaming consoles for. Having it on Gamepass will be huge, but having it exclusively on Xbox would literally change the industry. Even though that probably won't happen, It is clear that Sony is at least aware of the pote...

Remember when Morrowind was on PlayStation!? That's right it wasn't, and that's when the Elder Scrolls series really started getting it's recognition. It's been associated with Xbox way longer than PlayStation. PS is Final Fantasy JRPG and Xbox is where the WRPGs like ES and Fallout are more popular. Simple as that. Not being on PlayStation will not hurt Elder Scrolls one bit, you're delusional if you think otherwise. Between Xbox, PC, Gamepass, and the Cloud apps comi...

Dude just become a politician and help change the digital rights laws. Read the fine print on any of those legal docs included in every game. You never truly own the game regardless if you paid full price or played on a sub service. The only difference is the amount of money you paid. You want to get suckered into paying full price for something that can be taken from you at any time, that's on you. They can brick your console, they can delete your games, they can block you from your enti...

@TeamIco

Cut that BS Gamepass filler crap out! Such a false narrative, just stop. Forza and Halo blow Sony's FPS and Racing games out of the water and those are on GP. Theres a ton of both AAA and indie in there. Enough with the trolling. Gamepass so good that Sony had to copy it. I knew the trolls wouldn't stop even after that 🤦🤮

If Sony does decide to buy SE it wont be until after the dust settles on the MS/Actiblizz acquisition. As big of a stink as they're making regarding MS owning CoD it would not be a good look to then go and buy the CoD of RPG games.

It would look even worse considering the flagship mainline Final Fantasy games are Sony console exclusives, whereas CoD is not Xbox exclusive at all. They're not stupid enough to throw themselves under the bus like that! At least I dont ...

March 2024, which is when the next Zelda will release. It'll be huge!

They will have some good software coming next year to make up for the extended Zelda delay. The current hardware is not strong enough to get the desired results for Zelda so it must be done this way.

I think they're missing a huge opportunity by not making a more powerful model of the current platform.

Regardless, i really hope that the next platform is back compatible with the Switch and that they stick to the naming of the platform. Switch 2 or Super Switch seem like perfect names. And it should be able to enhance the current generation software.

As a shareholder myself, id like to see this current generation extended by making a Pro or Super ...

All these AAA games out and I find myself playing this and Power Wash Sim more than anything 🤷😂 Maybe I should just start a business doing these things IRL? Ive never been a fan of simulation games but hot damn these are just so fun and sublime to play.

Series S seems to be hitting the mark just right in Japan now. It's the right price, form factor, and value for the Japan market and is showing that Microsoft can actually make the Xbox successful there.

I'll take Bethesda games over Square Enix all day. Maybe not the past catalog, but definitely the stuff coming out over the next several years. Elder Scrolls and Fallout left Final Fantasy and Star Ocean in the dust years ago. I much prefer the western style RPG over JRPG now.

And Remember, SE sold off their Western devs and franchises so they no longer own things like Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Hitman, etc.

It's funny because back in the day people said that about Sony and some folks cheered, some even had a wishlist of companies that Sony should buy next.

Now that another company is playing that game to a higher degree it's suddenly an issue? MS definitely raised the stakes buying up big companies like Bethesda and Activision, but they didn't start that trend. I couldn't care less either way, I always end up buying all the consoles anyway.

So many complaints about the free games but then those same complainers also say they prefer to buy to support the devs?! I don't get it. Shouldn't the great games not be free according to their own logic? How the devs gonna make money for new games if the stuff is just given away for free? Same reason they argue for the Sony upgrade fees. " But the devs put in the work to upgrade so there should be a fee " ok well stop complaining about the free games then 🤷🤦...
